In lieu of last year's turning point for the band, House of Heroes has been doing their darnedest to make sure you remember them, all through a series of three 3-song EPs. First it was acoustic, then it was a Beatles cover EP, and now it's a Christmas one. Of course, whether it's good or bad, with the price tag you should definitely check out all their EPs; this one especially.

The EP is straight up Christmas music, with no real style deviation or original takes on the songs. What I mean is that HoH doesn't really try to put their stamp on the songs. 'All I Want" is essentially HoH singing the Mariah version, except slightly less poppy. 'Silent Night' is pretty basic instrumentally, but the vocals here give it the highlight of the EP. 'Oh Come Emanuel' is the most rock-oriented track on the EP, but I don't think the song really has any emotion to it, therefore hurting it to some degree.

Overall, you won't find any great & original takes on classics, but you will find a good straight-up Christmas EP. It doesn't try for much, and therefore doesn't get much, but hey, it's at a great price, so pick it up.

After putting out a sophomore album that amazed nearly everyone, House of Heroes has been putting out EPs all this year. First was the Acoustic End EP, then House of Heroes Meets the Beatles which was full of--you guessed it--Beatles covers. Most recently House of Heroes released another covers EP, this time full of holiday classics. And knowing House of Heroes, there is no way that this EP will disappoint.

Starting the EP is "All I Want For Christmas Is You." The song seems like a good choice for HOH. The lyrics match their style, and the upbeat tempo allows them to shine their talent. But HOH can make fun, energetic music just as good as they can make peaceful, melodic songs. "Silent Night" was released last year as a single, and is included on this EP again. It has that acoustic feel that we've all come to love about House of Heroes, keeping things really chill throughout. The string section incorporated about midway through the song preserves the classic feel while keeping it new. "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" closes out the EP, and is probably the most drastically changed track. Maybe not as much as August Burns Red's newest Christmas cover, but they made this one their own. A stunning guitar solo ends the track, flaunting the band's remarkable talent.

Tim Skipper's vocals are what make The Christmas Classics such a spectacle. His flawless voice goes perfectly with all of the Christmas songs we know so well. Without his voice this EP would borderline average. It's that extra boost that'll make this such a memorable Christmas effort, no matter how short it is.

I've been listening to House of Heroes for about 5 years now. I was absolutley excited when the guys decided to put out a Christmas EP. Not only are the songs awesome (Seriously, who doesn't sing "All I want for Christmas is You" at least once during the holiday season?) but they're high quality. Its obvious that Tim, Colin, Jared, and whoever else was involved with this project thought hard about what songs were right for them as a group. I love this EP and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in some classic Christmas songs with a House of Heroes twist.

This EP is great for getting into the christmas spirit...the House of Heroes way. Tim Skippers amazing voice sounds awesome to these Christmas Classics. "All I want For Chistmas Is You" will get you in that happy christmas spirit for sure. "Silent Night" sounds so beautful and so peaceful it could lull you to sleep. And O Come, O Come Emmanuel has House Of Heroes all over it. Its definitely an EP the whole family will love.
