Marshall Thornton has packed so much into this story that it amazed me. There's heartache, anger, mystery, soul searching and of course love and romance. 5 Divas. --Helen at Dark Divas

Product Description

After his mother’s death, a Chicago advertising executive in his early thirties returns to his tiny upstate New York hometown to spend the Christmas holiday with his recently widowed father. While struggling to get along with his prickly father, he finds himself becoming involved with the teenage crush he’s never forgotten, now a closeted sheriff's deputy.

The relationship still has the same old fire, but it complicated by the old crush being married. Suddenly, everything takes a backseat solving the mystery at the center of the deputy’s marriage. Will a Christmas visit bring happiness to anyone, or will it end in misery?

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Star Review from Rainbow Reviews, May 23, 2010

This review is from: The Christmas Visit (Kindle Edition)
What's a man to do when the pressure to pay a Christmastime visit to widowed Dad gets to be too much, even though he wants very badly to avoid seeing his teenage crush, Deputy Travis. Sure he's never been able to forget him, but the long distance between his adopted Chicago home and upstate New York home town at least gives him a breather. However, his dad has other plans and soon Travis ~ and Travis' wife Melinda ~ are inescapable. The lust is just as strong as it ever was in adolescence, only now it's time to face the emotional impact as well.

The Christmas Visit is a compelling, strongly-written, realistic short story of love lost and found. Beautifully woven, the mystery of Travis' marriage plus the long-held attractions make for a story that will keep readers riveted, and returning for a second and third read. Marshall Thornton delivers a not-to-be missed holiday tale of romance, lust, family secrets, and entangled relationships. Do not let this one pass you by! PermaFrost - Rainbow Reviews
