IMHO, this timely book is, by far, the best book on the chrome OS, the Google ecosystem and the new Chromebooks.

But all the new and different models of Chromebooks really aren't the point. The point is the Google Cloud computing eco-system, which all of the chromebooks access for us.

This eco-system and its ramifications for the users, is the major focus of this fine book. We users are very lucky to have Mr. Rome on our side.

i read the first edition of this book, a year and some ago, when it was the only thing around, and I was pleased and impressed with it. It was a big help to my learning process. Now, the book has been added to and revised for a second time and it is even better yet.

Meanwhile, i have moved from the Chrome browser, to the prototype CR-48 Chromebook, and then quickly through three generations of production Chromebook computers to the revolutionary $250 machine just out. All along the way, I have benefited greatly from Mr. Rome's books.

C.H. Rome, is very familiar with his subject. He regularly uses a Chromebook for his own projects, including creating published books and articles, and including writing this fine little book.

Best of all, the author is a writer with the rare gift for clearly explaining complicated technical subjects. I was very lucky to have stumbled across Mr. Rome.

Suggestion: you need this book to fully understand both your new Chromebook and the general Chrome phenomena now breaking on our 21st century digital shores. Stop dithering around and buy it, now !!!! It will make you happy.

It is a book written to be useful to beginners and experts to medium.
Its internal structure allows read sequentially, if the level of dominance over the Chromebook is very basic or even zero, but also allows the more experienced reader, locate and move to the sections that could eventually serve as an introduction to further reading.
The writer demonstrates a thorough knowledge about the Chromebook and additional products, which makes entertaining and enriching reading this book.

Just as with the main subject (Chrome OS), this book is simple, clean, easy to read, and full of useful goodies. I've never before purchased a how-to book on electronics or computers, but decided to pick this one up to accompany my recent purchase of the Acer C7 Chromebook. I did so because I wanted to ensure I got the most out of working with a new and unfamiliar OS and the price of the book makes it hard to resist. With that being said, I was not disappointed; the book is filled with all sorts of useful information and how-tos.

Only thing that was lacking, and which I thought might be useful, is a description w/ specs and a simple review of the various Chromebooks on the market. I know such info will be outdated after six months or so, but I would've enjoyed reading a comparison/break down of the different models.

If you have recently, or are about to, purchase your first Chromebook, I highly recommend you get this book, it will surely help or at least allow you to better understand how Chrome OS works.

This book is fine for a non-literate computer-user who whats some basic information of chromebooks. Not enough meat for experienced computer users.

It was very helpful. I knew nothing about The Chrome Book, so I was like a sponge. I recommend it.

A nice easy read, however the author assumes too much of the reader's knowledge and the index is weak, not covering important nouns. I learned a lot from the book, but had to do outside research to fully use it. Most of the time 1 additional sentence by the author would have cleared up the problems. All in all, I give this book a must read for new Chrome OS users.
