An album you really should buy.,

I'm not joking when I say you need to at least check these guys out. Assuming you listen to more than just "Manon Lescaut" or P.O.S., you stand a fair chance of being impressed.
The Venetia Fair is a fabulous mix of melodic, pop, punk (not saying pop-punk, I mean the separation), postcore, and cabaret/gypsy/carnival/something. The lyrics are clever, flowing, fast, and feature a shading of something dark and twisted without ever hitting you over the head with it. They're very good musicians and as a band the sound they produce is rich, complex, playful, and very creative. The Circus has a lot of fun songs that really catch your attention and hold it. There isn't a single song on this album that I don't love and won't listen to every time it comes up through shuffle. It's probably worth noting that they thankfully avoid for the most part the obnoxious "black as is my soul" teen-angst idiocy that characterizes a lot of the genres The Venetia Fair could be slotted under. Think of something more akin to "The Wolf Man" (1941), or old stories about changeling children or the gypsy carnival scarpering with your youngest, and less of "I went to the circus and decided to throw myself into the tiger cage in the hopes that I would be mauled to death and my ex would feel bad."

It's really the best of both worlds! Maybe even 3! They sound a bit like the The Used also!
This is amazing! You've definitely have to get this!

Completely agree with the aforementioned review-this band is spectacular. They border punk/metal/screamo without the "emo," but with just raw emotion and power to the point of wanting to get up and dance yourself to death. Well, maybe not death, but they certainly are energetic, and from the videos I've seen of them live (I have yet to see them in concert but I plan to when they come closer to me), they have the same sense of stage energy, and crazy antics. Check out their video and at least listen to the clips-it's worth it. By the way, no I'm not a paid advertiser, I just really fell in like with them :-)
