5.0 out of 5 stars A triumphant new release from the Clay People... July 17, 1998
Format:Audio CD
I have been an avid fan of the Clay People since their first Restrisction release, Firetribe, and their newest does NOT dissappoint.
Dan Neet's haunting and powerful vocals drag the listener, kicking and screaming, to a spooky place where creepy-crawly things will vivisect them over tea. The music is dark and harsh, melodic and heavy - sprinkled liberally with bits of gristle and pieces of bone.
I hope to see more of Dan and his unmerry band of golems - I expect great things of them in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Album February 24, 2000
Format:Audio CD
I must say, I was surprised when I bought this album. I heard they're track Wake Up from the Universal Soldier: The Return soundtrack. I figured it'd be worth a listen. As much as I enjoy Wake Up, it is no where near as good as the rest of the album! The album mixes modern Metal with Samples and Programming, much like that of Gravity Kills and early KMFDM stuff. Not too much techno, which is great! Really brings out the heavy guitar riffs. Definately worth a listen!

5.0 out of 5 stars This album put them on the map - and for good reason September 18, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The lyrics are weird and the instruments are kinda slow, but the thing that really sells this album is Daniel Neet's vocals. With this, I think Neet would be much more deserving of the nickname 'ghost' rather than Ivan Moody from Five Finger Death Punch. I mean, Neet's voice just sends a chill down your spine.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the only album where Neet actually shows off his vocals. When you listen to the Waking The Dead album and Iron Lung Corp (Neet's other band with shared vocals), you'll find that he sings much differently. And by different, I mean worse. I wouldn't even consider listing Waking The Dead in the metal category.
As long as you're not a hardcore thrash or death metal fan, you should give this album a listen to. And if you're into punk rock - well...there's Waking The Dead for ya :/

5.0 out of 5 stars Brutal November 17, 1999

The Clay People are an excellent industrial band. They are also outstanding live. Aswell as nice guys if you get a chance to talk to them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what i expected. June 19, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I really wanted to hear a good Industrial album but there is so little that this just sound like a typical rock album. And nothing particularly great about the songs either. If I were to listen to it a few more times then some songs might grow on me but nothing really struck me on the first listen and i really wanted to like it too.

Bottom line, i wish i had not bought it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album! October 16, 2012

I saw this band live and had to get their music. This album is at a great price and was perfect for allowing me to preview their studio sound before tracking down and purchasing physical CDs. I love this album and can't wait to hear more from The Clay People!
