Book Description

Disgraced British soldier and disenchanted mercenary, Petros Kyriades, is one half of an elite pair of soldiers-for-hire known as 'The Collectors'. William ('Bear') Morris, ex-SAS sergeant, is the other half. Their motto is, “If it's there we will find it, and for the right price recover it.'

Accountant Bernie Cohen cannot recall the first ten years of his life. But with the assistance of a psychiatrist, he exposes an undesirable truth. An abandoned house close to Chernobyl holds the mystery of his past, and Bernie hires The Collectors to retrieve something that should have remained hidden.

The Collectors always play the game by their rules – that is until someone or something forces them to rewrite them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining read. Loved it April 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Collectors was a great read. I read it from start to finish in a day.
Loved the action adventure and the characters of Petros and Bear.
The intrigue of the corresponding storylines kept my attention as the threads became interwoven in a brilliant ending.
From one continent to the next I loved the descriptions of the various countries and how the terrible history of war and the crimes of the
past had to be faced and accounted for by those in the present.
Fabulous read, enjoyed every minute. I'll definitely be looking forward to reading the next in the series. There were some threads left hanging, and I'm
interested to see how those threads are picked up in a new storyline.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and packed with action March 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The Collectors are always in demand. They manage to make three collections in this fast paced story and still have time to rescue a stranded yacht, and fall in love.
Petros and Bear are brilliant characters, sparking off each other while working in perfect harmony. then there is a continual stream of secondary characters each drawn to perfection. Looking forward to the next edition!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok, lacking a real focus June 7, 2012
By Becky
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This story has potential, but it goes in too many directions. There is even a chapter that has nothing to do with anything in the book. I kept waiting for that story line to develop, but it never did. The story is interesting, but just too choppy. It jumps around a lot. Just when you think it will get exciting, the collectors win and we are off to something else. It feels like four stories all rolled together, but none of them are really told completely.

Very fine light read - the two main characters are extremely likable and the premise, that they "retrieve" lost or hidden objects from dangerous places is fresh and intriguing. Dialog is usually terse and quite well done.

Subsidiary characters didn't do so well. The Mossad agent, Daniel, is unbelievable. The two women characters, Maria and Jocelyn, add nothing to the story and are one-dimensional.

Overall a good and pleasant read and worth pursuing the future books of this author of great promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the risk of being late for work! March 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Petros "PK" Kyriades & William "Bear" Morris are collectors. They journey to some of the most dangerous places on earth to retrieve lost or stolen valuables and keeepsakes and their services come at a high price

Mr Sewell is a brilliant storyteller as I really felt I was visiting these places from the safety of home. He uses evocative dialogue and description to really give the reader a feel of the tasks that Bear and Petros face. They are very likeable characters; possessed of a core of integrity and compassion. This is a tale of danger, romance and male camaraderie that will have you turning the pages to the very end.

I look forward to reading more of this wonderful series as this first book is well worth your time and money. It is definitely worth the risk of being a little late for work as it draws you in.

Mr Sewell is definitely one to watch!! Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars not satisfied August 22, 2012
By Mrs.V

I liked the concept of this book. Guys who go get things in hazardous places. The story was OK and therefore worth the 99cents I paid for it, but it was not worth more. The guys were not "real" and the story too disjointed with totally irrelevant details. This sounds like there should be fewer stars, yet somehow despite the problems I did like the book. There was action, violence, sex, and not necessarily at times that contributed to the story, but somehow you could suspend disbelief and enjoy the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Meet Petros and Bear April 6, 2012
By Marj
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
'The Collecters' features two chaps by the names of Petros and Bear. They do freelance 'collecting' valuable objects, when the quest is invariably difficult and dangerous, and occasionally very smelly. The book is written more like a series of adventure stories than a more traditional novel, though there are connecting threads running through.
For a light read on the way to work, this is ideal. Well written and entertaining.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short Attention Span June 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
For some reason this book just couldn't keep my interest. I felt that there was too many types of story lines going. Action, Adventure, Romance, and not very well blended. I won't completely bash this book. I understand you all have your own opinions. I just wasn't into it.
The author does write well, meaning descriptions, the people, it just didn't pull the story together enough for me.
