Where's the content? January 4, 2010
This seems to be only a few highlights of what's in the Dispatch for the day, perhaps some sort of ad speaking "buy a paper subscription". There are many paper and website articles that haven't made their way to the Kindle edition. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it's completely missing the things that make it a newspaper -- things like the weather, classifieds, any sort of serious business news, etc.. It's even lacking many of the headlines, not just the minor features.

The Dispatch offers an electronic edition that is the word for word, ad for ad paper through their own website, but the Kindle Edition is very, very sorely lacking content.

I'd easily pay more than the cost of paper subscription to have the actual newspaper on my Kindle, but even at the lower than average price for The Dispatch's Kindle Edition, it's not worth the time or money.

Come on guys, it is an electronic version of the printed version. Why can't you provide EVERYTHING that is in the printed version in this version for the Kindle? You provide it on your website. Are you that electronically uneducated? Here is one way to increase your revenue with very little additional cost - why not take full advantage of it? Also, I emailed the Dispatch asking similiar questions and received NO response.

Finally July 31, 2009
Since I spend a fair bit of time on the road and I am a bit of a news junkie, I've been using a software RSS feed compiler running on my home PC to compile the web version of the Dispatch and email to my kindle. This has worked well for about 6 months, but I was thrilled to see this show up as a newspaper subscription. The menu format the kindle newspapers use is better than the menus my software had been generating from what it pulled from the dispatch website. That alone sells it for me, and not having to keep something running on my home PC seals the deal.

The layouts and formatting are not as pretty as the NY times, and there are no graphics (which is why I dock 1 star). BUT, the news articles are here and it's easily readable, searchable, and it automagically arrives when I turn the wireless on.

I like it, but I would encourage the dispatch editors to put in some graphical content, especially when it is referenced by the text of the article.
