From Library Journal
In both these books, readers will find all the information necessary to turn a puppy into a healthy, mature companion. The authors emphasize the special needs and unique characteristics of their breeds. Both list prominent kennels and top winners. There should be a demand for these books, as both are on popular breeds. Libraries with limited funds, however, could consider purchasing instead the American Kennel Club Staff's The Complete Dog Book (Howell, 1985) and Kathy Flamholtz's A Celebration of Rare Breeds ( OTR Publications, 1986), since both cover a variety of breeds in one volume. --Helen Sondrol, Lincoln Univ., Pa.
