I received my order today, and everything is in perfect shape.
The box is really nice, the cd packaging looks great, and the best part is the book with extensive liner notes about each album, and about Miles' in general..
One of the most monumental accomplishments in the history of music, and a great education for any music fan not yet familiar with jazz or with Davis' work.
I received this set as a Christmas present from my wife & I can't put it down. I have been a fan of Miles Davis' music since I bought my first album of his ("Bitches Brew") and... Read morePublished on April 3, 2012 by Kenneth E. Macalister Jr.
Someone in Columbia records apparently understands how the world works these days: They've taken ALL of the Columbia records' Miles discs (71 discs and a book! Read morePublished on December 22, 2011 by Gordon E. Anderson
I would like to give this box set a good review, but I have I guess, two main problems with it. First - seems like probably at least half (if not more) of the 50 some CDs are just... Read morePublished on December 1, 2011 by SRT

The package isn't perfect, but it's good. The music is just about as close to perfect as 71 discs' worth of one artist could be. Read morePublished on March 31, 2011 by Micah J
I found this collection very well presented through all Mile's carrier.
One issue, which I did not realize before, is that the Japanese Custum Office charged import tax of... Read more

This box replicates 51 Miles Davis albums released on Columbia Records. It does not include any of the Complete <Whatever> Sessions box sets, and I _believe_ the albums should not contain any bonus tracks. Rather than a complete, session-by-session history of Miles on Columbia, this... Read More

|Are any existing box sets made completely redundant by this set?||
yes and no. All of them are made redundant in the sense that the original releases of every single one of those recordings is present here. None of them are completely redundant and obsolete, however, because those are complete collections including every single outtake, whereas this is merely... Read More

Yes. I replied to the email and sent the various invoice, etc. info to Sony. I received no acknowledgment either. Maybe we'll simply get this new edition sent to us in a couple of weeks.
