Format: Paperback
Our expert friends Alfonso and Randall strike again together. Putting together their decades of experience and wisdom, they mark us with their contemporary interpretation of Project Success: more hinging on soft skills and integration than solely technical skills.

The concepts presented are simple to grasp, powerful, wildly and immediately applicable. The core book puts in your hand the "how" to remove barriers which may be environmental, executive or business-related, often due to non-alignment and lack of motivation from the actors. Each chapter of the Complete Project Manager Toolkit provides a set of standalone tools regarding an indispensible skill to become a complete Project Manager.

Until recently we used to have the PMBOK®, elaborating mainly on the technical skills. Now we have the complement to it as well, covering the soft skills.

You have been waiting for these two books, even if you did not know it until now. Let your library be complete !

Alexander Matthey, PMP

Format: Paperback
This book takes a fresh approach developing project managers. It doesn't provide "cookie cutter" tools to be memorized, but rather explores strategies that practicing professionals have used and had success with in breaking through some project barriers. Many contributors (including yours truly) mean you have the advantage of diversity in styles and ideas and not just those of the authors.

The flow of the book is well organized with good transitions between topics. Englund and Bucero make this an easy read incorporating just enough humor while not diluting the great lessons available. I highly recommend this book for those project professionals that want to enhance their skills with a PM book with a fresh focus.

Format: Paperback
There is a lot more to managing projects effectively than cranking out network diagrams, resource histograms, and Gantt charts. This book offers solid, readable insights on the soft side of project management. It's a good read. It does a good job of covering people skills, the skills that make the real difference between project success and failure, including: organization skills, negotiating skills, customer management skills, and conflict management skills. What makes this a refreshing read is the authors' premise that project management should not be viewed as a burdensome chore -- it should be fun!
