Editorial Reviews

The Congress is Ari Folman's new film starring Robin Wright. Following the success of Waltz With Bashir, The Congress is a live action/animation film based on the novel The Futurological Congress by Stanislaw Lem. The film tells the story of an aging actress with a disabled child who agrees to a large payment to have a full body imaging that will be digitized to create a digital actress controlled by the studio. The film features a beautiful score by Max Richter (Vivaldi Recomposed) and inventive versions of "Forever Young" and "If It Be Your Will" performed by by Robin Wright.

Heartachingly beautiful music and Robin Wright continues to surprise and delight with her talents. Fair warning though, a few of the pieces will bring tears to your eyes because they are just such pure aural bliss.

Almost as great as the movie.
I am suprised by Robin Wright. Her cover of forever young is remarkable.

I'm still confused on this reception for this album. I own every Max Richter album released on vinyl, and while I truly love his work...I fail to see the excitement in this album. It never picks up, it has no emotional resonance whatsoever, and then it just kinda fades away. There isn't anything memorable to this soundtrack at all...it feels like rejected music from other work. I've spun this at least 4 times as well, and it never gets any better. This is the first release of Richter's that I kinda wish I had not spent the money on.

Great score. Came up on a Pandora playlist a few times before I had even heard of the movie (which is a trip-fest, by the way). Never knew Robin Wright was a singer, but she nails the two songs she does on this.
Drops a star for a few of the higher tempo songs, but if I was being honest, that's mostly because they remind me that I was pretty confused by what the hell was happening in the movie!
