They do suggest a few ways to use the cards, but we ended up just passing the cards around the room, letting the person with the cards choose the question to ask to the next in line. The best part about them were the questions. I researched every type of game/cards like this and settled on this one because of the reviews. I think I made a wise choice. I needed the cards because my family had a 13 year old relative come into town that we had never met. I wanted something where we could get to know each other without feeling silly or having embarrasing questions. We had an 8 year old playing all the way up to a 62 year old and we laughed and talked for a few hours, in the process we got to know each other a little better. I wanted some religious and values questions, and there were a few. I did NOT want any adult-only or embarrasing questions, and I was pleased to not find any. I highly recommend these cards for getting to know others. Some of the questions were a little personal, but that was what I was looking for (personal without embarrasing). I don't think I'd recommend these for a business setting because of that. Also, there are a lot of questions in the two decks, but this isn't something I'd want to play every night. Great for situational use, like I needed. They were exactly what I wanted.

This game seemed at first like a no-brainer. However!! when you actually play it, the conversations that develop are amazing! We have played with people we have known for years, and also with people we have just met and each time it gets so interesting, without being contrived or set up. There are a variety of ways to play and we have varied them a little. Great fun,the only game you need in your cupboard for dinner parties, ice breaking, holidays and also those times when you are socialising with people who perhaps you wouldn't neccessarily choose to socialise with. It also gave us the best conversations we have had with our children EVER!

I am going to try it with our training groups at works in the New Year.

The Art of Conversation Talking Game (Taoc Taoc)The questions in this game are incredible and can be answered at varying levels. TAOC is a non threatening and non judgmental way of getting to know people on a deeper level. Yet it is great fun, LOTS OF LAUGHS,and it does not feel like some sort of therapy session. We have hours of great times with TAOC and it has improved many aspects of our relationships with friends, family and each other. No more of those married couple dinners where you communicate via ESP. No more grunting teenagers at the dinner table. And no more wondering what to say to long lost relatives or acquaintances that one may prefer not to be actually needing to speak with at all. A genuine happy memory maker.

We took this to a function where we knew no-one, popped the cards on the table and within minutes we went from having no conversation to people talking laughing and having a fantasic time.
My kids even play at home when we have guests, they now know more about us, our childhood, likes and dislikes ect than we ever knew about our own parents. Well worth buying and makes the perfect gift for someone who is hard to buy for

We have family dinners at least twice a week, with the whole extended family. We now do at least one of the questions at each dinner. The grandchildren are 8, 8 and 10. They immediately ask if I have a question ready. My sons were the most resistant, but they are slowly coming around. We are learning so much about each other, and laughing deep belly laughs, too. We are all examining our own behavior, and seeing how others see us. What a great idea!

These cards are great to use to start conversations with your spouse, teens, children, grandchildren and girl friends! Great for ice breakers for Ladies's meetings and dinner guests. Folk, we are losing the art of conversions because of texting and e-mails. Let's bring conversation back to the dinner table or just anytime!

We used the cards twice over a three day period as an icebreaker and fun time during a Technology Symposium where 21 scientists, engineers and executives were brought together, many of whom had not met previously.
We used them in small break-out groups and then for the entire group.
Too much fun / just the right amount of fun at the right time.
Thank you - super product.

I recently visited my sister I had not seen in 18 years, she has teens now that I've never met of course. I took this with me on my visit. I'm a Grad student in TESOL and I thought this would be a fun activity to get us all talking and learning about each other, it did just that. I spent the weekend and we were all great friends by the time I had to return home. This game was the perfect ice breaker.

I bring this out at pretty much any party or social event I go to. While the questions do get old, they're mostly interesting and there's a whole lot of them. They're always a hit!

Humans are just a bundle of carbon and oxygen atoms, a fleshy bag of selfishness and instinct-drive cruelty. There is nothing that gets such a vile creature to talk QUTIE like asking "Tell me about yourself."
