The Cooking Mom cookbook exceeded my expectations! I, too, am a cooking mom, with 2 kids and a husband who are always hungry. The cookbook provided delicious recipes with ingredients I typically have in my kitchen - chicken, beef, dairy, vegetables and fruit. Easy instructions and every recipe I've tried has been outstanding. My kids LOVE the new menu items. I have been able to cut back on fast food and take out and prepare quick, easy and delicious meals with little time or effort and they taste awesome!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!The Cooking Mom

My daughter asked for this. She uses it often. Easy to follow and items
you can buy in any grocery store. Nothing too off the wall that you haven't heard
of before or can't find. Lot of familiar recipes.

This collection of recipes and clever hints and pointers is a pleasure to use.
Appealing in many ways --one of which is how to amp up simple recipes with easy and
appealing touches.
Helpful hints are a bonus I appreciate very much!
Highly recommend this Cook Book!

Amy Hanton is on our local t.v. station with a Cooking Show called Cooking With Amy. She is sweet and so down to earth.

I bought this for one of my daughters for Christmas. After she opened it, she discovered all the little "notes" Amy writes to the reader about the recipe and little stories of what the recipe reminds her of. She shares part of her life with the reader, and her recipe's are wonderful.

You won't be disappointed !

I am a working mom with three teenagers, two cats and a dog, and a
workaholic husband. I found this book to be very useful to give me quick
and easy ideas to get a wholesome meal on the table. My teenagers can eat a
meal, and be hungry a half hour later! Since I have chemical sensitivities
and try to feed my family mostly a whole food organic diet, I have found
that this book is very versatile to let me do that. I just use all organic
ingredients and sometimes substitute fresh vegetables for canned or frozen.
In addition, my family is veering towards a gluten free diet and I have
found that the recipes can be adapted to use gluten free grains. So, we
get the best of both worlds...happy full teenagers who feels like they are
eating "normal" food, and compliance with dietary issues. Recipes my family
really loved were Greek Baked Chicken (they were licking the plate), My
Absolute Favorite Make Ahead Brunch Bake (so great for holiday mornings or
family get togethers for brunch, and you can substitute frozen shredded hash
browns in place of the croutons), Super Simple White Chicken Chili
(sometimes I make this on the stove and other times the crockpot), My
Family's Favorite Baby Red Potato Salad (I either use organic mayonnaise or
yogurt), and the Pear and Walnut Salad (tastes like the kind you get in a
restaurant!). The only thing I would change is to add an index in the back
so that I can quickly look up my favorite recipes. This cookbook reminds me
of The Barefoot Contessa's family friendly meals but is friendlier for busy
moms. Buy this cookbook and make your family happy! You won't regret it!

Bought this book. Very dissapointed with the first recipe I made. (Hot Beef Sandwiches). Should have known that it would not have the best flavor since there's no seasonings. Pretty much a waste of a beautiful 4 lb rump roast that I cooked all day. Will try one more recipe tomorrow since I bought the ingredients---hope it's better. As I look more closely at other recipes I have to say the majority of the recipes are simple and will probably be bland since seasoning does not seem to be something this person likes to use when cooking. This book will be sold in my next garage sale for sure. Regret buying it.
