Best song on Slowhand,

This review is from: The Core (MP3 Download)
"Cocaine" got most of the airplay, but to me, "The Core" is the best song on the Slowhand album. I first heard the riff decades ago on NYC radio, where it was used as the bed for commercials for Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. It stuck in my head and never left. Later I found the song getting mild airplay on the NYC classic rock stations. This song really has it all -- an awesome riff that chugs through the whole song, strong soloing, good lyrics, and excellent vocal performances from EC and Marcy Levy, who also sings backup on "Lay Down Sally."
