Book Description

Based on Greek mythology, this novel follows the adventures of Sofia, a child goddess adopted by the Muses, who's world is turned upside down when she learns she is part mortal. This terrible knowledge sets her on a quest to discover her true origins. She will have to elude the agents of Zeus and his Council--who are furious to know a mortal lives in their midst--and draw on an inner strength she did not know she possessed. But Sofia is not alone. Thalia, youngest of the Muses, a blind centaur named Erieros, and the ghost of the Greek warrior Achilles will help her in her quest. If they do not succeed a terrible fate awaits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, enthralling read May 23, 2010
By Lorin Y
This is an enthralling story that draws you in and delights with its layers and complications. I got this book for my daughter originally, but she had to wait until I had finished it, before she could get started.
An intriguing story that is full of twists and turns, set in a classic "Greek Gods" quest theme, with a very human core and perspective. Wonderfully descripive scenes and settings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Captivating adventure April 2, 2011

I may be biased because I know the author, but I do really love this story. The characters are interesting, the imagery is great, and the connection to Greek mythology made me want to study the references. This is definitely a good choice for young advanced readers (and their parents). I hope that Stefan writes a whole series!

Great read for adults and children. This story is mythology with a twist. I love how the plot takes unexpected turns and offers up a fresh context for ancient themes. I would definitely recommend this book especially for those who love mythology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, educational and entertaining story. January 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My son and I have both read this book and loved it! Greek Mythology is fascinating, and the author does a wonderful job intertwining his story with the ancient Mythological characters. But, this is not your "Percy Jackson" type of "fluff", it is entertaining, but so much more substantial. And, unlike Percy Jackson, the story actually takes place in the era of the Greek gods. Waiting for part two...!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Book April 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded the free Kindle version of this book and wasnt sure if would enjoy it or not. It started a little slow, but then totally hooked me by the middle of the book. Great discussion about all the major Greek Gods and Zeus especially was fun to hate. Great imagination by the author and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mythology type stories. (Yes there are some long sentences, totally agree. But overall the book is worth a read)
