Review

On my first trip to the grocery store, I saved $61.38. Several people in the store asked me about the Couponizer because they saw me using it. The checkout lady said "this is the biggest savings I have seen in a very long time." THANKS for a great product! --Sally T. from Phoenix, AZ

Purchasing my Couponizer was one of the best investments I have ever made. I have kept track of all the money I have saved with my CoupTracker, and I was overwhelmed to see how much money I have been able to save each month. One month, I was able to save almost $40 by using my coupons. The Couponizer also helps me to keep very organized. My shopping list in my Couponizer helps me to keep track of everything I need to purchase and what coupons I can use on my purchases. It has been such a relief going shopping and knowing that I am saving money on almost every shopping trip. My Couponizer is also easy to carry around in my purse. I take it with me everywhere I go. You never know when you'll need a coupon. I highly recommend the Couponizer to anyone who would like to keep better organized and save more of their money. Thanks Amy for inventing such a brilliant product! --Samantha R. from Lawrence, KS

The newly designed and updated 10th Anniversary Couponizer, it is sturdier, the coupstacker is more manageable...and after 6 years and a lot of wear and tear, I was so glad to start using the 10th Anniversary Edition. The things I love about the system -it helps me to keep track of coupons I want to use on that trip. I throw away fewer expired coupons. I love the carrying case -in the past 6 years...I lost my case and several times I spilled the contents out in the car! I really like the new elastic band to keep the notebook closed. I love-love the new couptracker -it is smaller and easier to use for sorting AND the new Couponizer is so much sturdier! A great invention? Yes! A money saver for me? Absolutely! --Diane H. from Ellicott City, MA

I love the little pockets that allow me to keep things in just the right place.

Now we don't have little clips, we have a bulky binder with pockets that make it difficult to sort through your piles of coupons.

I don't have a lot of time (who does) and this is an easy way to organize and help me to use coupons.

The Couponizer essentially consists of:
1) a ringed notebook with pockets for different coupons. The various pockets are prelabeled (e.g. baby, meats, frozen foods, pets, etc.)
2) Two sets of pads, 1 shopping list pad and 1 coupon savings total pad
3) a zippered plastic bag to store the notebook
4) a pair of scissors
5) a folded up "coupon mat", when unfolded, has marked sections that are the same as the notebook pocket names.

The basic idea is you spread out the coupon mat when going through coupons, and pile each coupon you cut out on its appropriate location on the mat. When you are finished clipping coupons, you then place each set of coupons in its notebook section.

The idea is pretty good, but there are two things I don't like about the system:
1) You can't change the pocket names (and corresponding coupon mat names). I don't have any pets nor babies which are just two examples of pockets I really can't use. What would be better is if there was a way you could create your own pocket/coupon categories
2) the notebook and zippered plastic bag are pretty flimsy. I don't take it to the store due to fear of tearing it.

This little item seems like overkill. Once I had it in my hands, I realized what all the hype was! Having things so organized makes you want to do it even more. The grab and go aspect is great with the scissors etc; included. I can even work on things while waiting in the car for my kids (which is quite often). All in all, I am quite pleased. It is such a simple item, but well thought out and executed.

I bought this even though I thought it pricey for a coupon book (I regularly used the mini file sorters you get at the dollar store) - because of the other reviews I read at Amazon. I knew I'd love it - and, no surprise, I do. My only complaint is that it could be made of something a little sturdier - it is already getting bent around the corners. However I love the extra categories and that they are all alphabetized - it makes using the coup stacker unnecessary. My shopping trip is now a little less awkward and it goes quicker at the checkout counter. The slots for "coupons to use this shopping trip" "coupons expiring this month" and "checkout" really come in handy. Overall - I'm very glad I bought it.

I have been thinking about getting this for over a year and finally took the plunge last week. I was really looking forward to it - and I am so disappointed. There were a lot of good ideas but I think they are poorly executed.

First of all - the book is too big but doesn't hold much. You can't fit it in most purses which means I may not always have it with me when its convenient to get to the store. I have had it for less than a week and it's already overfilled and looks bursting. The folders are nice to use but make the book lopsided, thicker on the bottom.

The categories aren't customizable which means the first one is "baby" whether you need it or not. Customizable stickers would have been an easy and thoughtful idea. Also there is a "coupons that expire this month" pocket which I find useless since most of the coupons I use expire in a month or two and then they wouldn't be filed by category anymore. I consider it a "coupons that expire in the next ten days" pocket.

I like the pockets for "coupons to use on this trip" and "checkout" but I had already been doing that with my cheap plastic, smaller card file. I didn't get anything extra out of this and feel that I wasted $20 and didn't improve my system at all.

This is a great organizing product; the best coupon organizer I've ever used. The problem is it doesn't last long. My first one, the covers fell off. I ordered my second one through amazon on 1-7-10. I was pleased to see the covers were made of plastic, not paper, and there was an attached elastic to keep the book closed. However, less than 13 months after I ordered it, the back cover fell off yesterday (1-31-11). I'm debating on whether to order another one or just make do.

Update 9/21/11: I emailed the company in February after I wrote this review and they never responded. The elastic mentioned above broke; I used my own rubber band and made do until finally this July 2011 I broke down and ordered another one. It's coming apart already! This is not overstuffed; I don't even use any of the pockets in the back half of the book. This time the rings are separating so the pages are coming loose. The rings are not really rings at all; the wires are closed loops bent to meet in the middle. If they were closed loops this wouldn't happen. I just bought a pocket organizer at Target and am going to make my own.

I bought this product thinking it had more room inside for coupons. But it didn't. The pockets are not big enough for the coupons i have and a few of the pockets ripped. Its hard to look thru the coupons that i have when they are in the pockets. I have to take them out of the pockets to see what i have. The weight of the product was quite heavy too. Cute idea, but not very practical.

This item is well organized. A little pricey. It seems flimsy and I feel it won't last long. If you are a mild occational coupon user, this would be great. If you are a heavy coupon user this organizer will not be able to handle it. It bludges and isn't easy to carry into the store.
