5.0 out of 5 stars Improve the car handling dramatically !!! December 11, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
The Crew is a truly an amazing racing game, a real masterpiece BUT the car handling can be very frustrating sometimes which could in theory ruin your racing experience. More specifically, it is very hard to keep your car under control at higer speeds; the backside of the car starts sliding from left to right and back to left etc.... (= oversteering). It's as if you're driving on ice. I found this to be really annoying (and I am certainly not the only one).

HOWEVER, you can avoid this effect (oversteering) and improve handling of the car dramatically, especially by setting "STEERING SPEED FACTOR" at MAXIMUM.

My settings are :
* All driving help
* Steering sensitivity (relatively low, but you might like a bit higher)
* Steering linearity : MAXIMUM
* Steering speed factor : MAXIMUM
* Deadzone : minimum

After I adjusted my settings to the settings above, the car handling improved dramatically. I find that all cars are handling very well now.
No icy-effect, no constant oversteering and sliding from left to right and back again.

Yes, I will be posting this message a few times on other fora in order to help the gamers because this was clearly one of the main problems.

3.0 out of 5 stars Think need for speed meets MMO December 2, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
First thing is first, if you are a fan of racing sims and NOT racing arcade, you will not like this game. If you read a bad review because it "isn't realistic," I would blame the person buying it for not reading what they were buying.

This is an arcade style racing game. Remember that when reading reviews on "realistic" or "not as good as forza/GT series" as this is a different type of game.

I will update further once I make it farther in the game, this is after 7 hours of game play.

Summary: 7/10
This game is Need for speed meets an MMO. MMO = massive multiplayer online. Therefore, you need a constant internet connection to play this game...even in single player. If you like arcade racing games and are looking for a large world, this game may be for you. If you have 2 kids or multiple friends who like racing games, this would be fun with people. Some missions feel useless and the overall the graphics are not top tier (they are good, just won't require a top tier graphics card to hit max settings), but the game definitely is fun with friends. There are short comings (the User interface is annoying at times, my personal disappointment with the graphics, some useless missions) but most can be overlooked for really what this game does different. It brings you and your friends together to do missions (like any MMO) but with racing cars instead of wizards.

Let's break it down:

Graphics: 8/10 for Console capability
They are beautiful, but not as good as you expected if you watched the trailers. This is due to them using CGI for their ads. So take that into consideration. It is not as pretty as other racing games in terms of car detail, but 30fps and 1080p on both consoles will leave you in a good spot.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money December 8, 2014
By Chris
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
I have to change my original review, as I have more time playing the game now.

Pros:
Graphics are stunning
Map is huge.
Story line is good.

There is a long list of critical negatives coming, though.

Negatives:

First things first is customization. I am not happy with the complete lack of customization. Need for Speed Underground was the definition of making a car your own. There are a lot of things Ubisoft could do to earn back a star or two, starting with giving us the ability to layer decals. Nothing makes me more upset than the way car games are getting with their lack of customization. Seriously, give us the ability to actually make our cars ours. Secondly, I cannot tint my windows or paint my wheels bright green. When I found the stripe I wanted to put on my car, I couldn't even change the color of it. I give this game 1/5 stars for customization because I do like that they give you options to change the bumpers and they are actually really cool. I'm adding this in because I forgot. To get performance upgrades, you have to do these ridiculous road challenges to win the parts. What happened to the good old days of just saving up money and purchasing upgrades for your car? It really takes a lot of time trying to drive around and win parts for your car so that you can beat the next mission.

The physics behind the police cars are less believable than my sister telling me she enjoyed watching the Quidditch match on ESPN. The police cars will literally own your life in this game and it is most apparent on the prison bus mission. The cop cars will catch up to you out of no wheres and then ram you, spinning you out. They'll lock their brakes in front of you and you will stop like an egg hitting concrete.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth your money if you love a racing game December 9, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
So far I really enjoy playing this game. I'm still in the early stages but the graphics are good, game is fun, story isn't something we haven't all heard before however it's still interesting and has me wanting to play more. The map definetly is large however it doesn't take as long as you'd think to travel across the U.S. Look online to see the number of cars available, I'm excited to advance !
