Book Description

The moment of the demons' defeat became their greatest victory.

In the carnage after the last great battle against the demons, a doomed general discovers their hidden victory. Instead of being annihilated, unspeakable evil escaped into many unsuspecting worlds. To fight them, the men and women of the Crimson Pact must sacrifice everything—including their own lives.

Explore 26 stories based on the world created in “The Failed Crusade,” by Patrick M. Tracy and included in The Crimson Pact Volume 1, about the valiant men and women who refuse to let the demons win, and those unfortunate souls caught in the epic struggle raging across the multiverse.

New York Times Bestselling author and Campbell award nominee, Larry Correia, and many urban fantasy, steampunk, sci-fi, horror, and fantasy writers tell the tales in this diverse collection of short stories, flash fiction, and novellas.

With stories by Patrick M. Tracy, Richard Lee Byers, Jess Hartley, Donald J. Bingle, Chris Pierson, Barbara J. Webb, Kelly Swails, Sarah Hans, Patrick S. Tomlinson, Sarah Kanning, Isaac Bell, Elaine Blose, Kathy Watness, Daniel Myers, Justin Swapp, Rebecca L. Brown, Gloria Weber, Garrett Piglia, T.S. Rhodes, Lester Smith, Chanté McCoy, Suzzane Myers, EA Younker, Craig Nybo, and Larry Correia.

Join the pact. Fight the demons now.*

* Note: The proceeds from the sale of this book go to the continued eradication of every red-eyed, soul-stealing, shadow-lurking, flesh-eating, baby-stealing demon in the entire multiverse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Diverse and Interesting! April 11, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Based on reviews and word of mouth, I downloaded "The Crimson Pact" as part of my vacation reading. I was intrigued by the concept of a spark from one author lighting the fire of imagination of other writers. I was not disappointed.

What a fun book! Sound silly for an often grim, sometimes morbid, occassionally weird book? It's not. I never knew what would come next as I breezed through the book, devouring each story like tidbits from a buffet. I both hungered for the next story and dreaded the last page, knowing that I'd have to be sated with a single volume.

Many of the stories, especially "Stained with Nightmare Juice" by Mr. Bell and "Hidden Collection" by Sarah Kanning, feel like the beginning of something much bigger and I, for one, hope to see them expanded into novels or just more "episodes".

I highly recommend (and have recommonded to my friends, co-workers and family) this, hopefully, first anthology in the book's demon-infested multiverse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark and Cool Compilation March 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
It seems that the art of the short story in many regards is dead. I don't know if this can be attributed to video games, youTube, Facebook, or any other digital distraction. In picking up The Crimson Pact, I was glad to see that this art form still lives and breathes. The Crimson Pact is a compilation of horror/sci-fi/fantasy short stories that circle around a central theme, the release of an innumerable host of demons across thousands of worlds and planes and a pact to take them down, one by one. Although all stories don't tie directly into the theme, they all serve as support legs that hold up a cohesive platform. Most of the authors are unknown. Some are just getting their fledgling tales out into the world. But they all have one thing in common: quality. I found the quality, and entertainment I experienced reading The Crimson Pact well worth my time.

Really enjoyed the stories here. Well written. The one I loved the most was definitely Monsters Under the Bed. Wish there was more of it to read - I'm hooked! Looking forward to reading more from Tomlinson!
