Book Description

The Cry of Mordecai a Trumpet Call for Today s Church An orphaned girl living as a minority in a foreign land, Esther rises above the overwhelming odds to become the second most powerful ruler in Persia, strategizes a military coup, and saves her people from total annihilation. Author Robert Stearns calls for an Esther Generation to wake up from the comforts of the palace and cry out on behalf of a nation that faces a threat even greater than that of Haman. From Jerusalem to Washington to Kiev to New York City, the author examines how and why Christians need to be on the offensive and offers five calls to action that will save a nation...or two.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1 Star Plus 5 Star Equals 3 Stars November 29, 2013
By Marmer
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I purchased this on Kindle as a freebie, just as I was finishing up Beth Moore's Esther bible study. I didn't enjoy it at all. Just felt like a long sermon so for me it would have been a 1 star. However, after I purchased it but before I read it, I also put it on my mom's Kindle (we share an account). She loved it. Said she couldn't put it down! Normally we like the same time of books, so I was a little taken back when she said she loved it. So my 1 star plus her 5 start equals 3!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good lessons for today! November 22, 2013

There is some great information and analogies to the present Church and it's role in the Kingdom. The author, however, tends to be too wordy and sometimes repetitive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected. January 23, 2014

I love the story of Esther and Mordecai. This was sadly lacking with no meat to it. Wish it had really spoke of what this story really means.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing! August 10, 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I received this book as a Christmas gift from a friend and knew immediately that I had to use it in a Christian book club that I lead. I cannot tell you how much this book has impacted my life and the lives of the club members. Usually we can discuss a chapter (or even more) in a meeting but we literally have only been getting through 1-2 pages at a time with "The Cry of Mordecai"! Robert Stearns has filled this book to the brim with important topics and issues to think about and discuss. So much of what we're facing in this world today can be tied to the story of Esther. This book is timely, well written, and a definite "must read." I know that I will read this book again in the future and pick up new things to consider each time. I can't recommend it enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars I August 22, 2014
This is a powerful book. I first read the book on kindle and I knew I had to get it on paper. I got so much out of this book.
The God who calls you by name is also the God of all creativity; He can call you to a totally different action that is not listed above, but is uniquely fitting to your gifts, your experience, and your sphere of influence. Allow the Holy Spirit cry of Mordecai to enter your spirit, and become the Esther you are called to be. “Yet who knows whether you have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this?” That was such a powerful message. I loved this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars cry March 8, 2009
WOW, what a great bok about how one person can change the world for good. God wants us to make a differance in every life we come in contact with. Esther was a woman who took a stand for her people. God wants us to stand up and make a differance in the world. One person is all it takes and we can be that one.

I gave this book 5 stars because the author did a wonderful job with this book. I found this book hard to put down and loved how the author weaved Mordecai with today's events. I will read this book again as I probably can learn more each time I read it.
