Book Description

October 25, 2011

More and more dog owners are beginning to cook for their dogs, not only as a special treat, but also for everyday meals. It is a healthier, safer alternative to store-bought dog food. But what about gourmet chefs? Do they cook for their favorite canines, too? Of course they do! The authors of Culinary Canine have interviewed the top chefs of the nation and asked them what their dogs’ favorite dishes are. Colorful photographs and delicious recipes accompany each interview, and the reader is given an inside view into a dog’s life with a master of the kitchen. Culinary Canine not only allows readers a peek into the life of a chef’s best friend, but also gives them a chance to be gourmet chefs for their own pampered pooches.
There are thirty easy to follow recipes included in the book. Each chef gives their favorite recipe for their dog.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks like a good book January 18, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Saw this cook book and several of the contributors with their dogs on Fox and Friends the other day and after seeing Muttloaf and a few other recipes I just had to have it because they looked really good. Pictures and stories are good and the recipes look very good however I am quite disappointed in that there are no pictures of the dishes. What is a cookbook without pictures? You would think that a photo of each completed recipe could have been included. Oh well I am sure my two dogs will love the recipes regardless of whether there are pictures or not. May write a follow up after making some of the recipes.

2.0 out of 5 stars mostly story book of famous chefs who dote on their dogs December 10, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was hoping for some nutritional advice and maybe some recipies, but this is not the book for that. It is literally a story (one or two pages) about a chef and how they came to start cooking for their dog. I already do cook for my dog, so this book did nothing for me. the reicipes in their were cute, and i'm sure Pups would love them, but my dog gets what I cook for the humans, minus a few spices and onions. I'm not into making an entirely separate meal (with 20 or more ingredients) just for my pup.
Nice layout, and lots of pics, but not the book for me.

I am very happy with my purchase of Culinary Canine. Loved the stories and have already tried some of the recipes with good success for my picky little Yorkie and Bichon eaters.
