From the Back Cover

We thought we were cured. We thought so, but most of us unwittingly carried an old, dead outlook into our new life. We couldn't measure up to a standard we created, so we convinced ourselves it was God's. We read his words through our grid of shame and felt ourselves fall farther and farther behind. We took it out on each other, judging, comparing, faking, splintering. Some of us retreated from the whole charade, becoming cynical, mistrusting, jaded from hope. Our marriages, churches, families, friendships, our marketplaces, our culture... they all need the cure.
But God's cures rarely come in the form we expect.
What if, indeed, God is not who we think he is... and neither are we?

Having read Truefaced, this group's first book, I patiently awaited another opportunity to explore some of the same concepts. I have been a Christian for close to 40 years, and I have never heard some of the thoughts expressed in this book exactly the same way. While so many Christian books go into issues and symptoms, and I've read hundreds, this one drills down to the core issues of how we become separated from the true will of God. I know that I am not separated from His love, but I sure have a way of separating myself from feeling His love. Now, I understand why. It was a quick read for me, but now I look forward to reading it again and processing the many thoughts it has brought up for my life. In my opinion, this book is truly important.

This book has literally turned my world upside down and inside out! It is without a doubt the most significant book I've read since becoming a follower of Jesus! Through The Cure I've come to realize over the years I had been really good at wearing masks. This book has not only helped me to see me for who I really am, but it has also helped me to see God as He really is! As a result the masks are starting to fall off. I've learned through The Cure that God's grace is so amazing that even on my worst day He loves me more than I can comprehend! I now know and understand that His Amazing Grace is "The Cure"! "THE CURE" IS A MUST READ FOR THOSE DESIRING FREEDOM!

I gave this book 4 stars for two reasons- 1)I didn't have the study guide and 2)reviewers will be wondering 'Oh, here's someone that didn't max it out. What did he say about it?' This book is only 112 pages and you need to have, if you dare read it, a highlighter near you. It doesn't make any difference whether you believe in a Christian god or not, it will challenge you. Answer this 'Can I believe in a god that loves me inspite of myself? A god that doesn't feel sorry for me or pity me or is disappointed with me, but a god who waits for me to wake in the morning so He can show me what He designed for me to experience with him today? Can I learn to set aside the crap I've been taught and believe there is a god who loves me and calls me his child? I am the son/daughter of the God of the Universe! On my worst day-that's who I am. Well, if you want to read about what that looks like, if you want to see what that love looks like-a love you could not only have but then turn around and give away, then this is a book for you. If you're a non-Christian, it will challenge you. If you are a Christian, it will encourage and in many cases, begin a healing process you have long thought wasn't possible.

Yep, it was only 112 pages. Maybe that should have been my third reason I only gave it four stars.

Several years ago my world was rocked to its very core which sent me spiraling downward and yet at the same time searching for better answers for the "who am I" questions of life. At that time a friend gave me a copy of Truefaced and I began to discover the truth about who God is and who I am in relationship to God. The result has been a continued journey of revelation and discovery that has changed every part of my life. Am I "cured", not completely but I do know "The Cure" and He's working in my life as never before.
It's important that you know that I am a pastor and counselor in one of the craziest cities in the world - Las Vegas. As a pastor I'm always looking for new concepts to teach and new ways of helping people discover peace and freedom. I know the truths shared in The Cure work, not only because of the hundreds of people I've introduced these truths too, but more importantly, how they have changed my life.
Thanks to John, Bill and Bruce for taking the time to expand the Truefaced principles so they can be more effective in the lives of people who are searching for the answer to "who am I?"
I heartily recommend the book and will be forever grateful for helping me, and the help it's brought to others, in our discovery of who God is and who God says we are.

This book is a thunderous clap of truths that will drive you toward your true identity in JESUS and awaken you to a deeper and deeper understanding of GRACE. "THE CURE" will inject you with the freedom to drop your masks, destroy your illusions, stop policing those around you and simply trust that the life of Christ in them and in you is enough.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. Get it for yourself. Get it for your Christian friends. Get it for your friends who are not yet Christians. It shows how much God loves us, and how little we need to do to receive that love.

I felt alone, ashamed, guilty, hidden, worthless, confused, full of regrets, and at 54 years old I thought my life's dreams had slipped away.
Amidst the overwhelming darkness of crippling depression a stranger walked into my life and handed me this book.
I read it. I wept. I read it some more. I wept some more. I began to understand something that had eluded me for so long.
This little book is filled with more hope and truth than a library full of self-help books.
It changed my life from tired drudging despair to joy, gratitude and love!
In the past I had tried on occasion to read the bible. Not so much because I wanted to but because I thought it was necessary.
After reading "The Cure" I went back to the Good Book and now see the scripture in whole new light. And I do mean LIGHT!
It has deepened my relationship with Christ and my friends and family in ways I never expected. And it has led me to new friends in a community where we love each other without our masks.
In my opinion this is absolutely one of the most life affirming, uplifting books ever written.
Most of us really aren't who we think we are, we are something far better.
Buy it and read it! It may not affect you the same as it has affected me but I promise you will be better for reading it.
