From the Back Cover

Let’s face it, reading through the Bible is hard. It’s easy to get stopped, stumped, tripped up, or otherwise discouraged.

It’s hard to know how much to read, where we left off, or how to fit the pieces together so that the Bible makes sense as a whole as well as in its parts. We have great intentions, plans, and dreams. And then we hit Leviticus.

The Daily Walk Bible makes getting through the Bible easier. It doesn’t rearrange the Scripture. There’s no complicated reading plan. It’s simple: start at the beginning and follow the daily reading plan. Each day you’ll explore a little more of God’s story.

Six days a week you’ll get an Overview of the day’s reading, an Insight, and a practical devotion titled “My Daily Walk.” Every seventh day is set aside to review the past week, look ahead to the next, and, most importantly, look up to God.

Walk Thru the Bible
For more than three decades, Walk Thru the Bible has been dedicated to igniting passion for God’s Word worldwide. Live events and small-group curricula are taught in over 45 languages by more than 80,000 people in more than 80 countries, and more than 100 million devotionals have been packaged into daily magazines, books, and other publications that reach over 5 million people each year. I cannot believe how much I love this Bible! I've been trying for years to read the entire Bible, but I've never accomplished it until now. This Daily Walk Bible takes you through the whole Bible in a year with very manageable daily readings, and it goes straight through the Bible, not jumping from one book to another like some Bible readings do. Not only that, but the snippets of information thoughout each reading is very informative and interesting. Then there's the fact that the NLT translation is my favorite and really touches my heart, and the font size is perfect - not too small and not too large. This Bible can be used like a regular Bible for Church, study, etc. It's simply divided into daily readings. My husband liked mine so much that I ordered him one too. It seems like such a simple concept that I don't know why this hasn't been done before. Bible reading plans I've tried in the past are very cumbersome, in that they skip from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and then a Psalm or Proverb. If you want an easy and fun way to read the Bible in a year, then this Bible is for you. I absolutely love it!!The Daily Walk Bible NLT

Ok I have been reading the Old and New versions of the Daily Walk Bible for maybe 10+ years. I recommend it to my friends and often give out copies to my clients. However, I have to say that I like the OLD version of the Daily Walk over this newer version. My Reasons are... #1: The primary purpose of THIS Bible is to help people make reading their Bible a daily discipline. With the old version - the DATE you are reading was clearly stated at the top of each page. If you know the day's date - you are good to go! However, with the new Daily Walk Bible you have to hunt for the date you want to read. This may seem like a small thing but it is a obstacle that is very irritating. A better format would be to put the page number at the bottom of the page and put the date of the reading at the top of the page. Also I don't know why the "Walk #XXX" is in HUGE BOLD Letters but how about putting the date in that spot as well. #2: With the old version the overview and insights were at the beginning of each day's reading. This was great because it helped the reader to understand the background of a passage and gave insights for what to look for in the passage. With the new version the insights are placed within the passage in special text boxes. This is very annoying! It feels like you are tripping over something while on a beautiful walk with GOD. Tyndale - please put the overview/notes back in the beginning!
In this case, the OLD Wine Skins are better that the New Wine Skins.

This is probably the most complete Bible to be printed. Its division is really user friendly for those who desire to know The Word, but are not sure how and where to begin. It is an excellent gift for those just beginning their walk in Christ. It was introduced to me by a friend when I found myself beginning my own and can attest to its blessing. Before you even begin to read the section of the day, it gives you an overview/summary, timelines, and topic division so that when you do get to the actual scripture, you have enough background to understand what you are reading. The Bible gives insight on events within the daily chapters, and finally amidst the reading there's a daily devotional until tomorrow. Again, great for all, but a true blessing for those with new beginnings in the Lord. The fact that it keeps it in its original order also helps you understand the intended chronology of The Bible with great ease. The New Living Translation has such a flowing manner and is also great for Bible newbies.

I LOVE this Bible. I like the structure of having a selection chosen for me each day. Also, I really like the "feel" of this Bible. I have the softbound, which I have found I prefer to a hardbound copy because it is easier to handle and stays open better. This is my first experience with the "Daily Walk" product. I really like the overviews, the My Daily Walk notes and the weekly Look Back section. I now have a hard time choosing between my other favorite Bible which is the Life Application Study Bible, NLT, also by Tyndale, which has wonderful study notes.

Makes the Bible a great read! Daily charts, summaries and information boxes most helpful to keep the Word in context for understanding. I have loved reading the Bible for the first time ever this year, and am giving this to everyone on my Christmas list!

The lovely thing about the Daily Walk Bible is that it allows you to read through the entire Bible in one year. What's especially nice is that, in addition to dividing the Bible into manageable chunks, each day's reading is preceded by a devotional that includes an overview and suggested applications for daily living.

This is not a Bible I'd use for in-depth study. For that, I'd go with a New King James Bible. But the Daily Walk Bible is a lovely way to have a morning cup of coffee or a bedtime story with God.
