Great show BUT missing three episodes and bad quality,
By
This review is from: Jackie Chan Adventures Season 1 (Amazon Instant Video)
This show is one of my favorites. The humor is great, the action is great, and the story is great. If you get a chance to watch this on television, do so. However, I have two gripes with this amazon on-demand product:1) technically, the first season is only 13 episodes long HOWEVER three episodes which aired in season 2 belong in season 1. SNAKE HUNT from season 2 actually takes place before ENTER THE VIPER in season 1. (snake hunt shows how the snake talisman ends up in the museum in the first place which is how enter the viper begins) THROUGH THE RABBIT HOLE from season 2 needs to be watched after SHELL GAME from season 1. (Jade takes the newly acquired rabbit talisman to school in hopes of showing off) THE WARRIOR INCARNATE from season 2 should be watched after THE ROCK from season 1 (They use the rat talisman to bring a statue to life) missing these episodes doesn't cause the first season to fall apart, but they are certainly out of place at the end of season 2 2) the quality of these episodes (judging solely on the free preview that is provided) is atrocious. blocky artifacts, aliasing...pitiful. this would kind of take away from the show because i would be distracted by the bad quality while watching the show. they need to redo these encodings and give this show some more justice.

A revision, if it pleases the audience,

I was here complaining about the service, but after a clarified complaint was straightened out with Amazon, I finally was able to download it.I remember someone complained about the lack of cold-opening teasers in the DVD versions. Well, the digital download versions do have the cold-opening teasers along with the opening sequence. I checked. I am happy to say that I got what I wanted. The content is great and I found what I wanted. That said: ***** for the content and service (five stars all around)

When I first saw the trailers for this back in what was it, 1999 or 2000, I was rather skeptical. However, after watching a few episodes, I was pleased with it. The animation is smooth and the storytelling is solid. The first episode for this series does a nice set-up for the season, introducing the villians, the supporting characters, and giving you the idea of the plot without revealing too much (Shendu and Valmont's motives are not 100 percent clear in the pilot episode) This is a show worth watching, especially the first two seasons, so why not start off with 'The Dark Hand'? Truly a great cartoon!
