Editorial Reviews

Review

" Keeps the pages turning....a fascinating science fiction narrative."- Kirkus Indie Reviews.

From the Back Cover

A post apocalyptic world is in ruins under the rule of a "Council" of self serving, sadistic leaders. A planet-wide genocide of both Humans and Tuulans caused this Hell to be born. This is Mara's life until she is cornered into an act that will send her towards her destiny. To a place that no one knows exists with a people that are presumed long gone.

More About the Author

Kristal was born and raised in the small, Southern Minnesota farming town of Ellsworth where a vivid imagination was necessary to spark new adventures. There were no bright lights of the city, but there was still enough mischief to find. Born in 1966, and now legally blind, she has two children, four step-children, and seven grandchildren. She draws ideas from her own experiences, her grandparents' and parents' life stories, and the stories she heard while visiting Eastern Europe and the U.S.S.R. before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Kristal mixes those experiences with her love of science fiction and her juxtaposed down-to-earth upbringing to create the stories that she writes.

I loved this book. The story was unique and a page turner. I am proud that someone from my hometown wrote this. Can't wait for more! So a sequel would be great :)

Was a good story about a post apocalyptic world. I love stories that have journeys within them, and this one doesn't fail to deliver. Does have some dark themes in the book though.

Absolutely spell bounding! Caught my attention from the beginning; such a hard book to put down. I enjoyed the characters; the author has a way of giving such a vivid picture through words of the people from the Tuulan race and also adeptly acquaints us with the characters of our world. Truly a sci-fi that holds it's own with the likes of Avatar! When does the movie come out?

This was a awesome book. I liked how each charater was brought into the story describing the charater with enough detail to make it seem like you know him/her personaly. I like the way the events in this book hold your attention. Each adding a little more perplexity and interest to the story. The story in this book leaves you wanting to know what is coming next, to the point of not wanting to set it down. This is a must read book. Looking forwward to her next book.
