Good music, but not very good MP3s
on May 15, 2013
The music in this selection is good; I liked several of the inclusions, and was well worth the 4.99 price.
There were a couple of surprising exclusions; I would have expected Rachmaninoff's 3rd piano concerto, first movement (or, as I like to call it, "the song of the nervous breakdown") in particular.
The main reason for the 3-star rating (other than the natural fact that, of the 99 pieces, naturally there were some I liked more than others) is the really, really glaring omission of composer information in the MP3s. If you don't happen to know who the composer of a particular piece is, there's no way to find out from the MP3 file, because the information is not included anywhere. When dealing with a collection of 99 classical pieces, all by different composers, "Composer" is kind of a critical piece of information to include somewhere, either in the name of the track or in the composer field, and I was shocked at its omission.
