Each denomination gives a different "job description" to the deacon. However, the tenants of Scripture are true across denominational lines. This book is an excellent resource for anyone charged with leading the congregation in showing mercy to those within and without of the Church. It would also be profitable reading for "those in the pew" who sincerely ask the question, 'what does Scripture require of me?'
