5.0 out of 5 stars unbelievable.... February 8, 2001
Format:Audio CD
When I first heard this album, I was convinced that it was the WORST album I had ever heard. I'm not really into speed/death metal at all, and this reeked of it.
But then I listened to it again....
I've NEVER heard such innovative and inspiring songwriting. These guys are just amazing musicians and should be looked at not as a hardcore band, but as a very talented individuals. This is by far one of my most favorite albums of all time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this album to anyone who thinks they can handle the experience. Rock on guys....

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing. heavy. brutal. tunes. August 20, 2005
Format:Audio CD
this cd is better than most today. a lot of bands could take a lesson from it.

while listening to it.. it inspires me to write something. i am a musician myself.

i dont like labels but this "noisecore" is some of the best. this is one of those cds you can listen to over and over again. the riffs dont get old, boring or repetitive.. and it invokes chaos in your mind. vocals are sick. buy it. its worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The opening track starts and never lets up from there. August 30, 2000
Format:Audio CD
Imagine this:you put in the Spitfire cd into your cd player for the first time,a small guitar tune is played at a decent volume. This goes on for about 7 seconds, then it gets hairy, the sound explosion known as Spitfire emits from your headphones,as the lead singer revs up his throat for a adrenaline rush of massive proportions.Hard tearing guitars and pulsating bass and drums A-bomb this cd,the hardcore grunge sound is mastered on this album. This is not the fast bam,bam,bam...of most hardcore bands..this is slow, strong explosions. The lead singer sounds like a caged and hungry lion. The tracks 1-6 are the elite songs..and wont be passed up by the listener..track six is the rush of the cd..I listen to this cd before games,it does wonders.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT November 27, 2000
Format:Audio CD
Spitfire is a great great metal core band! Crazy tempo changes, crazy lyrics. this band just plain out rocks! Unlike what some ppl say, this band sounds nothing like Training for utopia or zao. both great bands, but give spitfire some credit! They have a pretty unique sound. U like this band.. check out, The dilinger escape plan, COALESCE, Botch, and Harkonen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spitfire - is number 2 on my all time favorite cd's December 19, 1999
Format:Audio CD
This band is amazing! I rank it to be my 2nd favorite cd that I own (Roadside Monument "eight hours away from being a man" being my first)......and I own a LOT of cd's. I buy at least 5 or 6 cd's every week. You want crazy songwriting? You want complete madness? You want brutality? Listen to THIS cd! They're completely amazing, and definitely know how to drive emotions in their song writing. The first song is just incredible, and I also find track 4 to be probably one of my all time favorite songs. If you haven't seen them live, you haven't seen a REAL band live! They are insane! Definitely suggested if you're into Hydrahead bands like Botch or Cave In. Also if you are into TFU's "plastic soul impalement". Check this one out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Metalcore at its best July 12, 2000
Format:Audio CD
These guys are brutal! This CD will keep you listening wondering what will be coming next. Slow and grungy one minute shifting to chaotic and intense the next. The constant tempo changes combined with the vocal style changes (screams to singing harmony)keeps it so you never really know what direction the song will be going next. Most of the album is hard and heavy though and definately recommended.
Their sound best resembles Training for Utopia, Dillenger Escape Plan and early Embodyment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spitfire kicks a$$ February 14, 2000
By kris
Format:Audio CD
Yo, these are my boys, I've been going to their shows since they were competing in battle of the bands in high school... Buy this record, you will not be disappointed. In fact if you can get their cd "straining towards what's to come." get that too...If by some strange act of god you get your hands on their O.G. demo tape, you'd be SUPER STOKED....These guys are chaotic-balls-to-the-wall-hardcore.....
