Book Description

While investigating a grisly and eerily familiar murder, Matt Cahill is drawn into the violent world of underground cage fighting. He agrees to help Stacy Barnett, hot-headed young grappler whose best friend and fellow female fighter has gone missing. Stacy’s friend turns out to be more than a friend and the kinky fetish wrestling matches she’s involved with turn out to be something far more sinister. As Matt uncovers layer after layer of twisted horror, he finds himself locked into a no holds barred fight to the death—and beyond—that will leave him questioning everything, including himself.

About the Author

Christa Faust is the author of several novels, including Choke Hold, Money Shot and Hoodtown. She worked in the Times Square peep booths, as a professional dominatrix, and in the adult film industry both behind and in front of the cameras for over a decade, starring in dozens of racy fetish-oriented videos. She also wrote and directed a four-part bondage adventure serial called Dita in Distress, featuring world famous Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese. Faust is a Film Noir fanatic, an avid reader of classic hardboiled pulp novels, and an MMA fight fan. She lives and writes in Los Angeles.

Lee Goldberg is a two-time Edgar Award nominee and the author of over thirty novels and non-fiction books, including The Walk, Watch Me Die, My Gun Has Bullets, and Unsold Television Pilots (which was adapted into hit TV specials for ABC and CBS) as well as the long-running Diagnosis Murder and Monk series of original mystery novels. As an international television consultant, he has advised networks and studios in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, China, Sweden, and the Netherlands on the creation, writing and production of episodic television series.

William Rabkin is a two-time Edgar Award nominee who writes the Psych series of novels and is the author of Writing the Pilot. 5.0 out of 5 stars Get Ready To Rumble... October 4, 2012

Great continuation from the last book in this series (Midnight Special #12 by Phoef Sutton)...
The usual elements are present, Plus Ms. Faust does an Excellent job of incorporating some new & interesting ideas, like Matt seriously wondering Who or What he really is...
Excellent action & fast-paced writing keeps this episode moving forward, and we even find out a little more about Mr. Dark and some of the things he's capable of (I particularly was glad to read these things, as for awhile in this series we had learned very little about the elusive Mr. Dark...).
I hope the next installment we be up to the high water mark set by Sutton & Faust's treatment of The Dead Man!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulped! January 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The latest adventure in Lee Goldberg and William Rabkin's exciting cliff-hanger horror /thriller serial, The Dead Man, is another beaut.

The hero of the series is Matthew Cahill, an ordinary man who was buried alive after an avalanche and is miraculously brought back to life with a terrifying supernatural gift. He travels across America trying to find an answer to his miraculous rebirth and confronting the evil created by the mysterious Mr Dark.

As well as the creators, The Dead Man series has had some great stories from the likes of Harry Shannon and James Reasoner.

The inimitable Christa Faust takes the reins with The Death Match, as Cahill investigates the strange death of a dock worker and ends up involved in the murky world of underground female cage fighting.

Smashing two-fisted, hard-hitting, pulp action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the series. This is one of the better ones January 22, 2013

This series needs to be turned into a TV show. There are too many supernatural shows catering to the girls. We need a show that appeals to men also. What can be better than a big guy with an ax?

5.0 out of 5 stars Faust wins the death match September 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is everything you could want from a continuing adventure series. It's exciting and it goes down easy but it still has some meat on it's bones. This book is writen by the excelent Christa Faust of Choke Hold and Money Shot fame. The action in this book kicks in soon and doesn't stop until the last word but what is most impressive about it is that Ms. Faust is able to squeeze in an emotionel arc and character development among all the brethless action.
