Can One Word Change The World?

Virtue is the unequivocal basis of empowerment, fulfillment, and authentic self-belief. Everything else is deception. The key to every genuine achievement, success, and ultimately, happiness in life, is virtue. All the self-belief tomes, the inspirational bestsellers, the "delicious diets," the "magical workouts," the accomplishment and relationship "smash hits," the financial and career "wizardry chartbusters," all the "enchanted commercials," and even the good and honest books doomed to failure without virtue. Whether it is our schools, our families, the boardrooms, our businesses, career or financial judgments, or the athletic arena, at the heart of every mystery plaguing our nation is the lack of virtue. Devoid of virtue we chase very unhappy lives. Virtue is the one and only cure. The rest are lies.

"The Delano Code" reveals how every human being can tap into the virtue dormant within and begin to move towards a life of excellence, balance, wisdom and peace. "The Delano Code" demonstrates how to develop virtue and attain true happiness. With this book you'll learn fulfillment empowerment and authentic belief in yourself. Join Delano, his comic strip friends, his stories, wit, humor and brilliant understanding of the essence of life as he leads us eloquently toward, "the good life," the only ticket to happiness.

Format: Paperback
The Delano Code of Law is a set of fifteen Universal Expectations or Truths founded on the teachings of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Sounds like ancient wisdom, but Greg Delano does a marvelous job of bringing the concept of virtue, "anything that leads or moves us toward human excellence" into modern times.

At first hesitant to read anything described as a "code of law," I was rewarded with a well-written and easy-to-read book. Each law is really an affirmation of the internal truths everyone must embrace to live a balanced life. Not believing simple truths like "I am Intelligent," or "I Must Believe in Myself," create roadblocks to our personal happiness and success.

I was particularly enlightened by the author's varied use of examples. Some of the examples are from television shows, movies, and professional athletes. All illustrate the power to overcome indecision and obstacles by embracing the truths. One well-known example is Michael Jordan being cut from his high school basketball team. If Michael didn't have faith in himself and his talents, he would never have become the household name he is today.

As a salesperson, the simple principle of "don't tell yourself no, make someone else say It," struck a chord with me. From it I realize that if I set up my own obstacles like, "I can't make any phone calls today," or "I can't contact the major corporations," I impact my ability to make a sale. If I put the "no" in front of my own efforts, I will never get far enough to hear the "no" or the "yes" from someone else.

Armchair Interviews says: The Delano Code is insightful as well as entertaining. Through it Gregory Delano empowers everyone to embrace fundamental truths to a life of balance and virtue.

A welcome addition to personal self-help, self-improvement reading lists, The Delano Code is a very highly recommended read for any general-interest reader, particularly those intrigued by philosophy and life-pursuit/self-help introduction documentation.

Mr. Delano used to be my high school Honors Humanities teacher. He was so corny for the students that we thought he was crazy. every single day before class started, we would be required to say the "Delano Code of Law". This sure seemed like narcissism to me. After high school I easily forgot about The Code and hoped I never had to see it again. However, years later I am a drug abuse counselor, and after witnessing client after client with severe self esteem issues, The Code came to my mind one day. With the education I have received since high school, I created my group counseling sessions aimed to increase clients self esteem, and ironically enough this book is the core of my group sessions. It bit me in the ads year's later as (previously stated), I hoped I never had to see it again. This book and I have had a tremendous impact on my clients views on themselves and recovery. Now I use it daily...again- irony. but good!
