5.0 out of 5 stars A Surprising Read April 18, 2012
By Mark
Format:Paperback
I normally don't enjoy novels with a female lead character and was pretty skeptical when I initially picked this book up. This, however, had plot twists and action scenes that were unexpected and left me wanting more. You'll find yourself drawn into the various story lines which have been masterfully woven by Biskup. Before I knew it, I was addicted to this book and the main character, Liz. I found myself rooting for her as she looked for her Mr. Right. While I'm not sure if I'll pursue more books with female lead characters, this book was so well-written and engaging I'll be reading anything else by Biskup, thats for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fun read, waiting for more... April 13, 2012
By Ryan
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I had fun with this book. The characters are well developed and remind me of people in my own life. It's easy to get sucked in and find empathy / happiness for the protagonist. Liz (the main character) is in over her head but handles it pretty well. I enjoyed reading this and am left wondering what happens next. When the next chapter comes out I will certainly pick it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amusing RomCom! March 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book! It's a great story to read when you get home from a long day at work. The author has a unique voice- I found myself cracking up multiple times throughout the story and the plot line is light and fun. Despite the fact that she works for the mob, it's not a dark book.

I love stories with strong female leads. The fact that Liz was a lovable, cute klutz who could take down the bad guys made her that much better. The secondary characters were fun to read as well- her best friend, James, added a nice comedic relief and the mob boys were all lovable. It's a ore PG adult book- the sex scenes aren't explicit and no foul language. Once the book gets going, you get hooked and can't put it down. I'm excited to see what happens in the next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Was very happy with this book. May 3, 2012
Format:Paperback
The Delivery Girl is a very well written book with great appeal and readability. The story flows and grabs your attention making it difficult to put down. There are some good shocks and some laugh out loud moments. I really enjoyed reading the book immensely. My only complaint is that I felt the story ended too abruptly, although I understand the sequel is coming out later this year.

More About the Author

Samantha Biskup currently has two books in print, a children's book called My Little Angel, and a fiction novel called The Delivery Girl. She has been writing since she was in second grade, which is when she had a weekly column for the local 4H club published in the Ripley Bee, a Southern Ohio newspaper. She went on to play the part of children in radio commercials for WRAC in West Union, OH.
The first novel that she can remember writing was back in 1987/88, when she wrote a 100-page novel on a typewriter.

Samantha has won numerous awards for her writing, including an award from Daughters of the American Revolution for an essay on American History. She went on to write a weekly column reporting on the state of matters at Henry Harrison Jr. High for The Record, a Harrison, Ohio newspaper. After brushing up on her page layout and captioning skills on her high school year book committee, and lending her time as a high school newsletter columnist, she never put down writing for long.

Over the years since high school, the plots and characters developed, and the stories began flowing. Her first novel to make it to mass market is The Delivery Girl, which was released in March, 2012. The second book in the series, To Catch a Rat, will be going to the editor shortly, and a third book in the series, currently untitled, is almost complete.

She is in her thirties, lives in Illinois with her husband and two children, and enjoys being active in the community as an assistant Girl Scout troop leader. She has a special interest in helping to increase awareness, early intervention, and opportunity for children with special needs.
