I just finished the book today. What a great read! I'm eagerly awaiting the next book from this author. I didn't want to put it down until I was done. He had me from the beginning and it didn't stop until the end!

This book was a joy to read all the way through. It is well written with realistic dialogue (well, as realistic as you can get in a modern fantasy setting). Chris does a very good job of separating the action with moments of calm to take the time to explain things. The book throughout does a very good job of describing the action. It felt very visually descriptive.

Without spoilers, the book follows the character Isaiah Bright who is a "halfblood"- that is, half human and half demon- trying to live normally in the modern world. He gets sucked into a girl's quest to hunt a demon which very quickly turns out to be a much harder task than the girl thinks it is, especially when they all realize that there is much more going on than they originally thought.

The book hooks from the first page, and is very hard to put down. Definitely worth the read!

This book is a ton of fun. Isaiah, a half-blood demon, and Anna a spunky human mage & demon hunter are two nicely written heroes that I hope we get to see more of in the future. The magic here is intriguing, imaginative and well thought out. It was tough to put this book down once I started and that's a good thing. If you like urban fantasy, magic, or demons you should really read this book!
