Book Description

When a flight from Canada has to make an emergency stop at a small, remote airport in the middle of the mountains, Heather, Ashley, Ian, and Marcus decide to make the drive home to Maryland rather than wait for the airplane to be repaired. The only thing on their minds is getting home in time for Christmas.

Little do they know, however, that their rental car has come with a surprise, and that just seeing another Christmas might be a miracle too big to expect.

As an ancient puzzle is constructed along their path, and a blood-thirsty demon hunts them for what he believes is his, the four friends will find themselves caught in the midst of an age-long battle between Light and Darkness, ultimately coming face to face with the dark secrets hidden deep within their own hearts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thriller August 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this story very much although I found it to be extremely sad. It's about a ring, a conspiracy, the end of the world and the 2 couples who are caught up in it's tangled web. Plenty of action and close encounters with spiritual warfare and the Dark Man who has made a deal with the devil. A nice prequel to "Solomon's Key", both of which I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down: must read! July 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"The Demon Signet" had me biting my nails from start to finish. It is an incredibly well done suspense/thriller/paranormal tale, with just a dash of NWO thrown in for good measure. The characters are well drawn, and there's a delightfully macabre twist at the end. It's the perfect prequel to Hopkins' "The Solomon Key", which is also a must read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pointless and Preachy November 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a book in which there are a lot of events, but nothing really happens. The characters do not develop, the plot goes nowhere in particular, and no mysteries are revealed. A bunch of people are after -- surprise -- a ring with unusual power. Why? We don't know but don't really care. I got it for free, and it wasn't worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very goood read February 8, 2015
By NSlone
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought about giving this book only 4 stars instead of 5 until I realized that the ending is the one to be most likely the way it would happen if the story were true. Again, a lot of research went into this novel and I enjoyed it to the fullest. This is one subject that really fascinates me. I mean I have many interests, but this one just happens to be one near the top of the list. As I said in the Progeny review, I started with Solomon Key on Friday evening, read Progeny and then the Demon Signet, which I finished Sunday afternoon. I just had to know his take on the story. After reading the novels, I can say this, there is much truth in the stories. Sometimes within a novel you will find a nugget of truth, and then later in another novel you will find another nugget of truth about the same subject, so it's often like connecting th edots. Of course, I've also read other types of books about the nephilim, including the Bible, and other books that are quoted from the Bible. So, I know that Mr. Hopkins knows his stuff. And yes, I know this is merely a novel. It still has truth in it.

3.0 out of 5 stars hard to get into the story March 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found The Demon Signet hard to keep my interest. There was no real significant character development, and a there were many events in the plot that did not seem to fit well within the story line. I felt at times that Shawn was trying to create a Steven King / Dean Koontz type story, but fell short because of the lack in the items mentioned above. Also, there was the occasional goriness thrown in that did not fit at all either. Overall, I liked the plot enough to keep reading until the end, and I will try another Shawn Hopkins book (because it has some good reviews - The Solomon Key), but I am only giving the book 3 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book! October 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From the start, the characters come to life, and the reader is immersed in the universal issues all teens face, regardless of upbringing. The plot develops deftly, and the suspense amplifies progressively.

1.0 out of 5 stars skip the middle November 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you skip the middle and the very end, there are around 40 pages that are interesting. On a positive note, there aren't too many grammatical errors.

1.0 out of 5 stars so bad November 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I could barely read this book. The flowery, weird descriptives in this book were terrible. I cannot believe people actually get away with writing this garbage. This author jumps all over the place just trying to get a simple sentence written. This was a complete waste of my time. Do Not Waste Your Time With This One!

The Demon Signet was a little confusing and not a little twisted but I thought it was an interesting read with more than enough twists to keep me interested. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars couldn't get into any of the characters
I couldn't really get a total picture of any of the characters. It's almost like there should be a prequel to provide more background on the main characters.
