It said that it was the "clean" version. It was NOT the "clean" version!!! I was expecting to hear "son of a gun" in the song, but near the end he said "son of a b****" instead. I do not like hearing swear words, and I won't be playing this one for young children to hear now. I wanted the clean radio version that I love. If it was the real clean version I would have given 5 stars.

This was a favorite of my fathers and grew up listening to this song and many other by him. Classic country!

I was trying to buy this song for a kids mixed CD for Halloween.... and the song is great. HOWEVER: it says: "You son of a bitch!" Not exactly the version I grew up hearing on the radio. It would be nice if they labeled them as explicit. I ended up purchasing the song twice and both versions were the same. I finally found the version with 'You son of a gun!' under the album Fiddle Fire and bought it.

I recommend this version for adults. However for little children or people who don't like swear words (he shouts BITCH so that you can't miss it) the fiddle fire version is a better choice.

This is his only best song, IMO. Too bad he didn't follow up with other songs similar to this. The only person who DID was Lindsey Stirling, a 27-year old girl who literally rips the violin and fast-paced synthesizer mix with no lyrics, just pure instrumental music....absolutely awesome and beautiful! Charlie Daniels song here is good and is a classic, but Lindsey can rip him apart with her stuff hands down......sorry Charlie.

I completely get to dancing, either right where I am or in my head when I hear this song. Coming from the South myself, the sound of the fiddle and other accompaniment is just great to sing the song in your head the rest of the day.

He's the closest thing to the balladeers of golden country.

"Clean"?!! WTF?!! The only swear word in the un-edited version is "son-of-a-bitch"... and it's still in this version instead of the version edited for radio that had "son-of-a-gun". This was purchased for my young son who heard it on the radio the other day and wanted it. Wasted download on this one.

I love the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" . Charlie Daniels has to be the best fiddler on Earth!!!! I love his music and sometimes, I even listen to the lyrics. The composition of his music is so grand, you just enjoy it whether you like Country music or not.

I'm not a fan of country music at all. I love this song. The lyrics are great, the music is great. It's very funny. If you're older than 25 and grew up in America, you've probably heard this song before—it will sound familiar when you hear it, especially the chorus.
