Loved this book. I highly recommend you read this series. Lots of humour, great storyline and memorable characters. This book is a bit steamier than the other book in the series.

I really love this series, but I have to admit that this was not my favorite book. So this is more like 3 1/2 stars.

First of all, I am a HUGE fan of the Anita Blake series by Laurel K Hamilton. I'm talking HUGE fan. But I will be one of the first to admit that somewhere along the line LKH let Anita's "slut-monkey" out to play AND then some...as did author Sam Cheever with Astra in this 5th installment of the Dancin' With the Devil series. I had flashbacks while reading and kept comparing Astra to Anita...it was distracting at times. Secondly, I also found the graphic sex scenes a little to errr..smutty?? I guess would be the right word. Something that the series has not shown until now. I found myself cringing at some of the language - 'cause quite frankly, there are tons of words and phrases to describe the "P" word, and that word was thrown around...a lot in The Devil You Know.

And while I found all that distracting, I was really glad to read this book, especially since it finally took Astra's relationship with King Dialle the Second and the overall storyline to a new level. The author still makes me LOL all through the book.

I wont give any major spoilers away, but EVIL EMO??? REAlly?? WHAT THE HECK???

I am looking forward to the next installment and I can only hope that Astra's Settling...well...settles down a bit!!
