Product Description

Own the world's first folding game timer, the DGT 960 has all the great functions of the DGT Easy PLUS and it also has a one-button function to quickly, easily and randomly create Chess 960 positions. Now everyone can play the newest and popular variation of the royal game (also sometimes called 'Fischer Random' chess after the late American champion's efforts to promote it) without having to worry about how new starting positions can be generated.

In addition to the Chess 960 capability, this great new DGT960 game timer will have all the functions of the current DGT Easy PLUS, including both bonus and delay modes. Folded, it measures a mere 5.5 inches long, 2.625 inches wide and 1 inch high! However, it still 'plays big' with a display measuring 4.75 inch x 1 inch.

Get the chess clock that does it all! DGT 960 gives you everything you need to time tournament and speed chessand many other board gameswith electronic accuracy. Whats more, DGTs latest is the first clock to automatically generate 960 (Fischer Random Chess) starting positions with the touch of a button! DGT 960 is also the first folding chess clock. Its packed with technology, but slips into your shirt pocket with room to spare! Yet it opens to give you a big, clear display!.

I honestly have a hard time believing that the orange push buttons come loose without dropping the clock?!

I bought one of these, and was initially happy with it. It is hard to find another chess clock on the market that will actually fit in your pocket. I did, however, notice that the build quality seemed under par for DGT's usual standard, and sure enough. After having been used less than 20 times, one of the big orange buttons that start the time for one of the two players, completely stopped working. Mind you, I took good care of this item, having already seen that it seemed like it could easily break.

The point of this clock is that it is easy to bring, but who cares about that when the clock breaks so easily? It is hardly transportable!! I was very dissapointed with this item, and I am STILL looking for at pocket-size chess clock of acceptable quality.

Below my review from two months ago - I loved the clock - so convenient - just open the clock and there it is - your last setting - so small so cute, so easy to set!!!... AND NOW IT IS DEAD - I don't know why - I thought it just needs a new battery - I even bought a second set of batteries ... just dead - as there was no warranty anymore I even decided to open the clock - but couldn't find anything

I'm owning this clock for a year now and I never had any problems. I have owned many chessclocks - even bought a few others for a little chess club (which I regretted buying later on) and I have to say I prefer this clock above all others I know
(maybe for BLITZ CHESS I'd take the huge GARDE electronic or something like this).

Still this is the first clock for which I never had to look up the manual - no matter what time control, delay(uscf) or bonus (for FIDE events) I wanted to use.
A perfect little thing!

I honestly have a hard time believing that the orange push buttons come loose without dropping the clock?!

I love the design of this clock. It's easy to use, small and therefore easy to transport. However, the clock stopped working within a year. I replaced the battery to find that the clock only works as long as I press and hold the "ON" button. I contacted the company. Apparently, this is a known problem with a particular set of DGT960s that they produced . They promptly sent me a new clock, free of charge.

Much like the first review I was immediately nervous about the quality of construction. Unfortunately, my fears came true within 2 months of normal use. The clock is now entirely unusable. It simply does not start up. Infuriating.

I won this clock after a tournament so luckily I didnt lose any money. But initially I liked the clock bc of its size and ease of transport, the downside is that the clock is not durable. after a month of use the orange buttons dont al;ways register the touch and i find myself having to hit the button several times before it register my move. So Im not sure I would recommend this clock due to poor construction.
