Book Description

While Carrie Bradshaw was in Manhattan looking for Sex in the City, the Dixie Virgins looking for love, marriage, and a baby carriage.

Sweet, sassy, and laugh aloud funny, this 7-book series follows seven women from the Deep South who met at a summer camp for girls when they were in pigtails and remained best friends through the years.

Now in their early twenties - some of them in college, some in new jobs - they’ve all set out to snare a man while staying true to the rule Bea made that long-ago summer: If the boys from Camp Geronimo come over, don’t let them near your Virginia.

In book one, Belinda, an old-fashioned girl who never had the advantage of a college education, lands a job as nanny and falls in love with her boss. But getting him to fall in love with her requires a lot of scheming by the Dixie Virgins.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Entertaining September 27, 2013
By Yancy
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book from the first set of emails these zany women sent to the very last page! What fun! The premise is delightful, seven young women who met at summer camp when they were children, and then stayed in touch through the years, mostly by email. Belinda, Janet, Molly, Bea, Clemmie, Catherine and Joanna all have distinctive voices and different personalities, and they kept me laughing all the way through. Some of the scenes are poignant, too, especially those where Ms. Webb shows us Belinda's hopes and dreams. This series is a breath of fresh air! Don't miss it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stupid December 23, 2013
By Procats
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought from all the reviews I read this was going to b a fun read. It was stupid. She knows how to use computer and all, but she doesn't know what deceased means??? Really? She was remade into a sophisticated woman in just a few weeks, really? No. Very disappointed in this book. I have read much better ones then this. I can read a book like this in one sitting. This one took me about a week. I won't be reading any of the rest of these stories.

This is one of the sassiest new series I've seen. Love Belinda and the Dixie Virgins! I laughed till I cried over some of their emails. And the love story between Belinda and Reeve is refreshing, funny, sexy and entertaining. What fun! This series is a must read!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute , but very predictable August 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really, 2.5 stars. Tops.

I bought this on a whim thinking it would be a fun and light-hearted read for the beach, but it was sadly so predictable I can't even say I enjoyed it. The storyline seemed truncated to me, as well, with very little plot or character development. There were also a LOT of typos throughout, which drove me batty.

Sad. I feel like there could have been a much better story told here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute easy read October 29, 2013

A rather simplistic predictable story. Life and love are never that easy. Read this in less than a day. Enjoyed the banter between friends. Not sure about reading the series. The Elvis series is much more interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love Love Loved this book June 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I Love Love Loved this book. I'm just starting book 3 Molly's story; just finished Janet's story and couldn't wait to find out about the next Dixie Virgin. I have noticed my book collection is mostly Peggy Webb. I love her style of writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars really?
I very poorly written book. More on the level for a young teen. I found typing errors. I have no intention of reading the others. This story line is one of a very weak fairy tale. Read more

The characters seemed real and had real emotions. The situations were a little fantastic but what you want to see in a romantic comedy.
