This was a very interesting film and anyone, who liked the movie, Dog Day Afternoon and wants to know about the real story would probably enjoy this. There is a lot of great archival footage I had never seen before of the actual robbery and the films digs deeper into all the people involved in great detail. It also was surprising how much the gay movement was tied into the story. Having said that, as a documentary I found it meandered a bit and was a bit scattered in its focus. I found as it went on about Dog's later life, the film ran out of steam and it became less interesting. Still overall, I enjoyed it.

If you are a fan of the movie A Dog Day Afternoon, then you must see this movie. I tried to search the internet about John Wojtowicz, but only found limited information. This documentary is excellent and well made on a limited budget. It explains how John was such a complicated man. I was touched to see how accepting his mother was of him. The end is heartbreaking when you see The Dog dying. Yes, I started to cry!!! I was impressed with the documentary and watched it again.
