Editorial Reviews

This indispensable double DVD and book set is a superb career retrospective of a legendary band. With spellbinding performance footage of The Doors in action in Europe and America as its backdrop, the program takes us on incredible journey from Venice Beach in California to Morrisons mysterious death in a Paris hotel in 1971. A team of music critics are on hand to explain the magic of The Doors and to analyze their contribution to rock history; including Kris Needs, the former editor of Zig Zag magazine and Ian Penman. This film provides in-depth reviews of all the key tracks from the great albums. It pulls no punches as it tells the story of the group.

1.0 out of 5 stars Exact dublicate of Total Rock Review October 4, 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I am foremost an avid die hard Doors' fan and have been hooked on their music since I first bought their albums in 1976 at the age of 21. I also like most Doors fans collect anything & everything relating to the Doors & of course Jim Morrison. I had not seen or heard of this product or the other DVD entitled The Doors Total Rock Review so I purchased both of them. As is true with alot of music, books, magazines, video tapes, dvds, and other related memorabilia about the doors or Jim Morrison there are also alot of rip-offs , replicas, and repeated info that is made available to naive and gullible fans. I watched and listened to the Total Rock Review first and could not believe that the Videobiography was basically the exact same thing only that it cost over three(3) times as much !!! The Total Rock Review must not have sold as well so they repackaged up the same film footage and also added another disc and made it available at a later date titled the Doors Videobiography. They also added a 50 page book to the double dvd set I guess to justify the price of this item.
