From the Inside Flap

"The best book for professional Dreamweaver users who need to know how to integrate other web technologies but don't need yet another tour around the menus. Real solutions to real problems that will save you lots of time...not to mention hair!"--George Petrov, founder DMXzone.com

About the Author

Nancy Gill is the owner of Web Wish Productions, a web design business she founded in 1996 after being turned on to the Internet at a seminar designed to get customers interested in a mass mall. Web Wish Productions targets mostly small to mid-sized businesses and has worked with companies in fields from agriculture to entertainment and media. Currently, about 90 percent of the company's business consists of data-driven sites. After hand-coding in Notepad for nearly 3 years, Nancy discovered Macromedia and Dreamweaver in 1999 and never looked back. She became involved in the Macromedia forums in late 2000 and has been a member of Team Macromedia since December 2001. Nancy has also participated in a number of beta programs for Macromedia over the past year and is excited about the new MX line of products.

Now that MX2004's come out, there's another swathe of massive books, each with the same tired old 300 pages explaining the menus, the panels, what is a computer, how the web works etc etc. If you're not a newbie - if you know your way roudn the products, but you still need a bit of advice on CSS or sone server behavior wierdness, this is a cool book. The authors genuinely know their stuff. I first "met" Gareth and rachel on DMXzone.com where they write power-user tutorials, and this book translates that idea well into print. It's saved me a lot of hours chasing bugs.

This book is very easy to read, has lots of info on common troubleshooting problems in Dreamweaver. It can be also a reference book on how to install Apache, mySql on your PC if you didn't know how to install them.
