Book Description

After Dani Avery is stranded in Asgard, will her shieldmaiden skills be enough to earn her a ticket home?

Kidnapped from Earth and abandoned in Asgard, Dani Avery must fight to return home.  When she stumbles upon a band of Elvish outlaws, their leader agrees to take her to the Rainbow Bridge personally. Although Dani is attracted to the handsome Prince Rein, his only interest seems to be in separating her from the magical sword and shield at her side -- or is it? In Asgard City, rules, regulations and bureaucrats stymie Dani's quest.  Increasingly frustrated and desperate, she seeks help among powerful immortals. Unfortunately, Dani becomes ensnared in a devious trap that may leave her stranded and alone in Asgard forever.

"The Druid is yet another fabulous--and fun--fantasy tale from author S. G. Rogers. Fans of fantasy epics like The Chronicles of Narnia will enjoy this story, I'm sure." - Julianne Draper, Tampa Books Examiner

5.0 out of 5 stars A 5-Star Must-Read!! May 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
THE DRUID was amazing! I found it to be a well-written story of danger, romance, mythology, martial arts and adventure that pulled me in right away! S. G. Rogers has an incredible imagination. She's created believable yet enchanting characters. Dani Avery is an ordinary girl who has been hurt by a past love and she vows the next time she gives her heart it will be to a hero and not a cad; even if she has to leave Midgard (earth) to find him. Dani takes possession of an antique-looking brooch and her world takes a peculiar spin...to Asgard, where she meets Prince Rein. A tussle ensues with the prince, so does a conflict of emotions. At the risk of giving too much away, I want to say that the author generated plenty of twists and turns, excitement and mystique to keep me turning the page. I rooted for Dani to get her happily-ever-after and I wasn't disappointed!! This is an excellent book and I can't wait for the next one from S. G. Rogers!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun refresher on Norse Mythology!! July 31, 2012
By Jaxs
Format:Kindle Edition
Well, I was certainly in need of a refresher in Norse Mythology and this quick read by S.G.Rogers is a fun romp through Midguard, Earth, and "Asgard: home of A-List immortals and the location of Odin's hall, Valhallas".
Stuck in her family's dry cleaning business, our protagonist, Dani Avery, has tired of being an underpaid, unappreciated assistant. She is coming from a broken relationship and has buried herself into books, to wile away the time when working & to fill her evenings when not!
I am sure that we have all wished at one point in our lives that we could be living the "Life of Riley"instead of our own. What would you do if you were suddenly relocated to another dimension? Cope well or fall apart & wither?
Dani Avery has dreamt of living in another world. Asgard, one of the Immortal worlds of Norse Mythology. Everything just seems so adventurous on that world not boring like her current life helping her sister try to save the family dry-cleaning business on Midguard!
Well sometimes you should be careful for what you wish for because you might just get it! On the way home, Dani suddenly finds herself in Asgard, fighting for her life. She hears of a evil plot and tries hard to find a way to get back home to warn a "friend" that he is in danger. She was pulled into this dimension accidentally, but fortunately she has a magical sword & shield to protect herself. She meets an Elf from the book ,Prince Rein, who keeps trying to steal her sword and is not quite the hero she expected him to be. Dani has to prove herself and with the help of Prince Rein and other immortals, she makes her way to the Rainbow Bridge and eventually home. Battles are fought & lost along the way. You will never believe the way she finally makes it back to Midguard. This book is light on the Greek mythology and heavy on the adventurous trials of Dani Avery in the world of S.G. Rogers' imagination. Fun, fun, fun to read!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Packed with detail and adventure December 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The Asgard Adventures are short books but packed with detail and adventure. You all know by now I love any type of book that includes references to mythology, history, or paranormal. This book references Norse Mythology and of great importance - Odin and his wife. After reading these books I almost wish I could visit Asgard - as long as I was able to travel at will back to Midgard (Earth). Can you imagine the possibilities? Dani unintentionally becomes caught in a battle of personalities between Asgard and Midgard in book one. And Prince Rein is awesome - although initial appearances showed his character to be not so noble. But he is a lovable character and makes the story "work". Dani accidentally becomes immortal - which leads into book two. In book two, Dani, Emrys and Rein become a powerful trio trying to locate the missing/stolen cup of immortality. A background character from book one becomes much more of a central character in book two. The end of the story is very surprising - but very cute. Unlike many series that exist - I don't believe you should read book two without having read book one first. That shouldn't be a problem since they are both rather short. But book two makes certain assumptions about what you could possibly know from book one and that is very important in the final "act" of book two. I give the two together a solid 5. Fun books and very entertaining.

I received these books from MusaPublishing in exchange for an honest review.
