Book Description

March 15, 2011 1604150661 978-1604150667 2nd
This is a new and completely revised edition of the official manual for Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)--one of the most successful psychology self-help manuals ever published. EFT is a remarkable new technique that uses the body's natural stress-reduction points. Tapping on these points according to the easy-to-follow EFT "basic recipe" has been demonstrated to rapidly reduce anxiety, depression, phobias, and other conditions. In this accessible text EFT originator Gary Craig takes the reader through the basic steps of identifying the emotional roots of their problems and crafting a combination of words that will trigger a healing response. He then demonstrates the one-minute healing routine that is the basis of EFT and discusses the ways in which EFT can be applied to a variety of common conditions, including pain, fears, addictions and cravings, weight issues, insomnia, and guilt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quantum May 4, 2011
When I check out a book, I like to read the 1-star reviews first to see if I can pick up on any flaws in organization, logic or writing, to help me make my decision about buying. While reading the 1-star reviews on this book, I kept thinking of Columbus. When he made his first voyage, all the people who still believed the world was flat, some very educated and credible, said he was a fool to risk lives and resources, since the ships, going as far as they were, would no doubt fall off the earth into oblivian.

Energy medicine, energy healing, or by any other name, is, in my nonprofessional opinion, the greatest forward step ever seen in the healing arts. But people are threatened by change in what they see as their truth. I felt sad for the one reviewer who had done extensive work with an EFT pro for PTSD and not gotten results...the first I've heard of this...and feel because of my own experience that there was a key issue that wasn't addressed. He deserved to find peace. Having hope dashed tends to increase one's bitterness and desperation.

I am not a medical professional, but educated, and know a little more history than that of Columbus above, including a bit about the history of medicine and what's going on in medicine today. EFT and others in this field are a quantum step...the magnitude of which we are only beginning to realize. There is a ton of science behind all of this that anyone can find if they care to look. I guess I can't give a website on here but will state just a couple references to get started: Bruce Lipton's book Biology of Belief (Lipton is a cellular biologist, and in my opinion a better lecturer than writer, although the book is more than worth your time. You can find him on YouTube.) Also, google the site for Leslie S.

5.0 out of 5 stars I should have read this book years earlier.. December 14, 2011
The Traditional Chinese Medicine claims that there is a path through which the life-energy known as "qi" flows. They are called Meridians or Energy Meridians. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) proposed by Gary Craig in 1993 states that "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system". Those energy blockages can be released by simply tapping on the energy meridians, while recalling the memory which brings about the negative emotions. EFT claims that it cured a wide variety of emotional issues and physical pain/diseases etc. The beauty of EFT is that, once you have identified the correct memory and the aspect and tapped it properly, it fixes the problem immediately and the results are usually permanent. The Basic Recipe process takes hardly two minutes to perform and anyone can easily learn to perform it without difficulty.

On the other side, Critics say that there is no known anatomical basis for the existence of acupuncture points or meridians and even if EFT works, there is no tangible proof that "tapping of energy meridians" actually brought the results.Several controlled studies shows that EFT actually works, but concluded that any benefit is due to traditional cognitive components, such as the placebo effect, the distraction from negative thoughts, and the therapeutic benefit of having someone actually listen, rather than from manipulation of meridians.

Yes. Science won't accept it, till it has verifiable proof. But, Should we wait till then?. Let the scientists work hard to find the reason and lets start using EFT meanwhile. It takes hardly two minutes and no side effects. If it works, be happy. Otherwise, forget it. What's a big deal?. I have used it on myself for few haunting emotions and I am better now. Great!.

5.0 out of 5 stars EFT Manual September 27, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have read this book through several times and have included EFT in my daily routine for several months now. I don't really know how it works but it does. I have used EFT to reduce or eliminate pain, to remove emotional intensity about daily and longstanding issues that arise. It has helped me in dealing with clients, remaining calm in speaking to massive audiences, really works! Thank you Gary for helping to bring these simple, yet powerful techniques to light. Try EFT. It will change your life for the better no matter where you are in your progress.

5.0 out of 5 stars The EFT Manual September 5, 2012

The EFT ManualI just loved the book. I've been hearing so much about EFT from friends who have done courses here in Australia but we hadn't made the time to show me how - soooo I went looking and found Amazon and The EFT MANUAL. The EFT Manual is clearly written with wit and easy to understand directions as well offering a website -FREE-to practise with and perfect the process. Now I can tap away on my own and feel confident that what I am doing is the correct way and no longer feel confused as to the WHY of directions. That's me I prefer to have information from the source and I FOUND IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended! March 31, 2011

I've only read half the book, but it is a great book! I've bought a number of EFT books on Amazon, and this is the best. It all makes sense, when you read this book. Even if the info is available on the internet, it's much easier to just read the book. When I use EFT, it works. I recommend this book to beginners and also to people who know something about EFT. Everything is explained very simply. You can always get books that expand on the concept, but first, you must learn the basics.
