Book Description

Eric Jerome Dickey, author of fourteen New York Times bestselling novels, imagines the formative college years of one of his most popular heroines, Nia Simone Bijou. This Penguin Special includes a preview of Decadence, coming April 2013.

From her first days at Virginia’s Hampton University, impressionable, creative Nia falls smitten with Chris Eidos Alleyne, an athlete and a scholar.

“Love is sweet nothings and beautiful promises,” Nia writes in her journal. What her girlfriends know, and her mother doesn’t, is that Chris’s expression of love is deeply physical. Wielding powerful charisma, Chris soon has Nia abandoning innocence for experience.

Believing that Chris will reward her sacrifices with lifelong commitment, Nia thrills to her newfound pleasures. She knows in her heart that each act of intimacy draws them ever closer. But when the Big Man on Campus learns to take what is freely given, without regard to love, Nia finds herself newly enrolled in Heartbreak 101.

The Education of Nia Simone Bijou is a rousing tale of youthful passion, once kindled, never extinguished.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scintillating & Titillating February 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Eric Jerome Dickey never fails to entertain! The Education of Nia Simone Bijou (E-INITIAL) did not disappoint. The perfect gift for the single to spend some time with themselves for Valentine's Day and the best thing to share as you whet your appetite with your Valentine to get the ball rolling for what's in store. As I await Decadence (part 2 of the Nia Series) I'll jump back at Pleasure (part 1 of the Nia Series) to soak my appetite in anticipation of what's to come this April.

Scintillating, Titillating - Simply Amazing!!!

Much Love EJD!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not up,to par March 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read almost all of Dickey's works and this one is the clear under dog.

It needs polish. Too many times an idea or concept was repeated;I hope he isn't embracing this as a new writing style, Further, there are many typos and errors in the text. Where're the editors and ghost writers? I could've done without all of the big words and high language that forced me look up,stuff on the Internet

With regard to content, this writing gives some back history to the main character in Pleasure. When I read Pleasure I thought it was a chick's book full of soft porn and rather 2 dimensional at best. An edited version of this writing should probably be included with Pleasure as a prologue to give more dimension and definition. I'll read Pleasure again and armed with this new character insight will probably really enjoy And understand It

4.0 out of 5 stars April can't come soon enough February 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
All I can say is wow! Mr. Dickey always writes a thought provoking read, and this one is no different. Its not your usual fluff, but actually makes you think and re-read sentences two and three times. At first I really couldn't figure out where this story was going, but about half way through it all makes sense. It is literally the Education of Nia Simone Bijou because we really get to read about her grow in such a short period of time. The dynamic between her and Chris was heavenly erotic, but they connected on a intellectual and spiritual level as well. Their little fun bunch with M&M, Rigoberto, and Eugene is what one would picture the college experience to be. I cannot wait until April 2013 to see where Nia's story goes in Decadence, I suspect it will be epic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Memories of Nia February 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"The most painful good-byes were the ones that were never said, never explained." ~ pg. 107

One of Eric Jerome Dickey's heroines is back: Nia Simone Bijou. In this special eBook release, Nia's memories are triggered while going through an old box. It is filled with old Kodak photos, letters, newspaper clippings and a journal of Love Is sayings. Everything was new and exciting during this part of Nia's life. She was an impressionable student at Hampton University that fell in love with athlete Chris Eidos Alleyne.

Young freedom. Dorm life. Passion. Sex and orgasms. This best describes Nia's college days. I enjoyed reading her memories written in that descriptive, sensual way that EJD is known for.

It is worth the download for just $1.99. There is also an excerpt of EJD's next book release featuring the same character, Nia Simone Bijou.

3.0 out of 5 stars What! That's it??????? July 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Ending was too abrupt. Expected the author to follow through to give us closure on the key characters--Nia, Chris, Rigoberto, M&M, even Siobhan---where are they now? Where are their lives now? An epilogue, at least, would have been nice...

5.0 out of 5 stars Nia Simone Bijou is my girl... (I wish) February 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I was privileged to attend South Carolina State University in the early 90's. I was a music major with dreams towards becoming a high school music teacher. But alas, life stepped in and I only completed two years before leaving. The job I took afterwards I kept for the next nine years but I will always remember SCSU. College happens during our most formative years and, for most of us, it is the best time of our life. One of the most enjoyable traits that we (as humans) share is the need to reminisce about "the good old days".

For me, reminiscing about "the good old days" at SCSU consists of living at South Campus, eating at South Campus (breakfast was always bomb), meeting a charming lady who went by the name of 'Sister' who you did not want to cross but who was sweet as pie, and who always saved me pear juice. Looking out the window of the library as the Marching 101 made their way to the stadium. Having a crush in a girl named Michelle Miller (who I still can't find) and then meeting her gorgeous cousin. The Champagne Girls (lawd have mercy!!), kicking hacky sack in front of Miller Hall, meeting Alfreda, making friends with a very promiscuous and very *ahem* endowed roommate that went to Claflin. Trips to Charleston, homecoming, our night march to the President's house, my sanctuary reading spot inside Henderson-Davis theater, the Pitt, the ATM where I could still get a $5 bill, and the beautiful, beautiful sisters.

Yeah... college life was a dream and it helped mold the person many of us are today. In 'The Education of Nia Simone Bijou' by Eric Jerome Dickey we get a small glimpse of how Nia became the sexual tsunami she is now. And like most sculptures, the beginning is always rough.
