About the Author

R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz (1887-1961) was one of the most important philosophers, mathematicians, and Egyptologists of this century. His elucidation of the temple at Luxor and his presentation of the Egyptian understanding of a special quality of innate consciousness form a bridge that links the sacred science of the Ancients to its rediscovery in our own time.

I came across the author by accident a year ago, since then i have bought all his books (even the monumental Temple of Man and Temples of Karnak). If i were to name 3 books that have had a massive impact on my life, i would say it was the Bhagavad Gita, The bible and The Egyptian Miracle. While these 3 tomes share little in the form of the message, how the message of godhead is distributed - there is an underlying current in them all. The Egyptian Miracle is the book that draws water from this well and hands it to you without asking for anything in return.

As for the content, to be perfectly honest i have no idea how to describe it. It is rare to find a book that blows open so many doors as this one, as well as presenting you with keys you never knew you had. I will not even try to describe it. you will have to read it for yourself to know what i mean. Rest assured that he decodes the mystery of the temples in terms modern man can relate to. No hocus pocus, just a deep insight into the reality the egyptians lived by - and hard facts, numbers and demonstrations.

From my childhood I've always been fascinated with Egypt. Unfortunately many of the books on Egyptian religion and culture are incredibly dry and boring... You can read them for hours and still find yourself no closer to understanding the spirit of their religion. Schwaller de Lubicz is different. His books are different. He takes you right to the heart of Egyptian esoteric wisdom! Not only is he a scholarly Egyptologist he is also a spiritually mature person who knows the reality of what he is discussing through personal experience.

Understanding this philosopy makes you a good student in any religious school.I even dared to consider sufism from this standpoint and asked questions such as "what's the place of form-and- geste in islamic dinamic meditation techniques?" Extraordinary for understanding egyptian painting and architecture.

I have read pratically all of R.A. Lubicz's books on ancient Egypt. And I must say they are all top shelf. His books must be read carefully but his style is succinct. The lessons of life are taught in his works, plain and simple.

When I imagined R.A. as a writter I thought of him as an older ecentric type but upon examination I found he was really an Indiana Jones type in real life, filled with contract assasins, secret societies, intrigue, murder and mystery. Many people didn't want the revelations of his books to be made public. His books on numbers and symbols are a must read. However, his wife I believe her name is Ida might have written the superior books between the two! The titles I can't think of off hand. But they would be worth the search. They are a credit to their profession, and I would highly recommend their entire collection! I would start first with the short work "The Temple in Man" and work toward the "Egyptian Miracle".

Format: Paperback
This book contains introductory material in the first half, and excerpts from The Temple of Man in the second half, making it the perfect introduction to this author. Schwaller de Lubicz proves countless points about ancient Egypt's level of philosophical, cultural and mathematical sophistication that eliminate conventional ideas about history as likely or even possible. It's too bad this work doesn't reach the audience it deserves. Less compelling is the fact that the bulk of his work, including this book, is nothing but his own medieval, alchemical philosophy projected onto the Egyptians. His ideas are interesting on an intellectual level, but not to be taken literally, and they won't exactly lead you to the "philospher's stone". Unlike de Lubicz's measurements or his observation of water erosion on the Sphinx, which we can reproduce, his interpretations of the meaning of the heiroglyphs are entirely subjective and spring from his own prejudices. So there is much gold here, but you must know how to separate it from the fool's gold.
