Editorial Reviews

The Eighth Air Force In Color contains two classic World War II era documentaries that cover the daylight B-17 bombing missions to Germany in color. Film #1 - The Memphis Belle - The story of a B-17 Flying Fortress "The Memphis Belle". Directed by William Wyler, the subject of one of the finest documentaries produced by the War Department during World War II, this is the story of the final mission of the B-17 Memphis Belle as it leads a squad of bombers in a daring daylight raid on U-boat pens at Wilhelmshaven in 1943. Run time is 43 minutes in color. File #2 - Combat America - Filmed in 1943, this dramatized story of the 351st Bomb Group of the USAAF is narrated by Clark Gable.
