More About the Author

Hi Readers! Thanks for coming by my author page. I've written all sorts of books - from fantasy about animals to books about science. One of my favorite animal fantasy series, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, is a major motion picture. I liked writing about Ga'Hoole so much that I decided to revisit that world in a different series, Wolves of the Beyond. I've recently added a new Guardians book: The Rise of A Legend, the story of Ezylryb, the great sage of the Ga'Hoole Tree. Another new book just came out, the first in the Horses of the Dawn series. I think of it as an equine retelling of the Spanish conquest of the New World. Visit my website, www.kathrynlasky.com for the latest news. All my best, Kathryn

A nice conclusion for this series of books. I enjoyed the whole series very much and learned a lot about owls in the process. Realize that they are written for children but are a delightful read for adults as well. As always there is the conflict of good and evil, with evil being vanquished in the last novel. It also teaches of harmony among all creatures, big or small and among varying species.

I just bought this book in the store and the cover looks exactly the same except for the title. The letters are in black print, so it blends in with the trees. Is this how it really is and the online cover they're showing with yellowish writing is just so people can read it? Or did I just get a weird book?

I bought this book as part of the series for my daughter. She has not quite made it to this book yet, but she is very excited to read the whole set and is reading as often as she can. The movie is also great!

In this 15th and final book in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series, war is coming. The Guardians and other creatures of the lands will not stop until Nyra, the Striga, and her Pure Ones are defeated once and for all. There will be many fronts and many different divisions joining together to fight evil and prevent hagsfiends from returning to the world.

I enjoyed this book and this whole series. Very imaginative and I felt like part of the owl world for a little while. Great work Ms. Lasky!

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed this whole series. I was ecstatic when then final book came out, however it left me a bit disappointed. I think it was a nice conclusion, but a bit rushed, like she had run out of room at the end and needed to squash the rest in. I did like it quite a bit, but think that maybe the author could have wrote two books. I highly recommend this series though; it is wonderful, and very engaging.

I did not really like how the series ends. This book is better than #14 "Exile", which I suggest skipping. It does not have the subtle anti-religious, anti-christian undertones the last one had. There is still plenty of violence, dark magic, and evolution but it is not disturbing like "Exile". I think the series has a better ending at book #8. That is where I suggest stopping.

Kathryn Lasky, if you are reading this, I cannot tell you how much this series inspired me! Now here's one for the readers. I got hooked on the first chapter of book 1, and read the whole series in a month! The War of the Ember will not disapoint readers who loved the first 14; and it resolves the books superbly. I don't know how you do it, but tremendous thanks to you, Lasky!

just awesome!!!! i am someone who loves books that are really complicated. they keep my mind going. but this one is only very sequenced at the very end. and everything leads up to that one moment.........but it is sad at the end. all over all though, this book is great! but you should read the rest of the series first, or else it won`t make any sence.
