Fine game, could be improved. Some neg reviews uninformed.

This game works well on my Fire. The graphics are sharp, and often lovely (the village, for one), although the speaking animation looks silly, and Elisa needs to stop batting her eyes -- the eye-blinking is odd and distracting.
The hidden object portion works fine, although there hasn't been as much of that as I would have expected. There are two types of match-3 puzzles: the typical, drag piece into line with others, and one where you connect as many same-colored pieces as you can to eliminate them.
The former is atypical in that the grid is tilted to show diamonds rather than squares, which does give a change from the usual. I'd sometimes find myself disoriented in figuring out where something can move, but that's probably just me, as I'm very spatially challenged. Also, as the game progressed, it would be necessary to clear the same squares repeatedly (the background color would get progressively lighter), and I'd sometimes find myself a bit bored with the repetition.
Both of the match-3 games use the same game pieces, which are very nicely detailed, and give a satisfying little clickety sound when a move is made. While times are recorded, the games aren't of the beat-the-clock variety, which I personally prefer, but have seen some people elsewhere detract for the lack, so choose accordingly.
The game combines these "mini" games (seem full-fledged to me) with a story and tasks which involve building structures and completing quests. The match-3 games are used to acquire resources (e.g., coal, wheat, etc.) for these tasks.
To the person frustrated to be only doing "the same small games," you need to go back to the town (building icon in the lower middle), and use the resources you've been gathering playing the mini games. I at first had the same frustration, but figured there must be something I wasn't doing properly -- while this could have been better explained in the game, I don't quite understand why I repeatedly see negative reviews reflecting a lack of understanding on the part of the reviewer, not an issue with the app.
Anyway, the game is nice, but not great -- it isn't flawed exactly, but could be tightened up somewhat. While I don't regret spending the $1, it isn't the best purchase I've ever made, either. If you enjoy match-3 games, I'd give it a shot.
