I picked this up from my local library, and am now looking to purchase it for future reference. It has many beautiful and interesting planting combinations, with wonderful photography. I've been gardening for about 6 years and have read a lot of gardening books. When I got to the section (most of the book) that lists plants alphabetically, I was pleasantly surprised to find that every plant listed has at least one picture, frequently showing it in a combination planting. There are also tips for combining colors, textures, etc., throughout the book. I also found some plants that I had not seen in other books I own, such as papyrus and hyacinth bean vine. In short, I got a lot out of this book.

The book is concise in its explanations and at the same time very informative. The illustrations are very good and explanations of where some of these containers could be used is very helpful.
