Just great!,

This is one more excellent work of Michael Cretu. I have read some reviews befor mine and frankly I just can't understand why they didn't like this CD. It's one of the greatest works of re-making well-known songs. Cretu has created songs, in which we can hear new sounds, never found anywhere else. Actually, this album consists of 7 well-known songs(from Vangelis to Moroder) and 3 of his own(Jens Gad has collaborated with him in creating it). All songs are very rythmic and are fulfilling you by a great power of energy(remember the name of this CD). This CD is like drug...yes yes, you're trying to get rid of it, but can't. I don't know whether it's good or not. Neverthelles, you'll like it quite much. A great deal has got L-42(probably 'Lullaby for two') which is the slowest and the most relaxive song here. Chase, AxelF, Lucifier are the most quickier and harder. Magic Fly is the compilation of so many new sounds and and thoughts that you even are in a little confusion, listening to it. Anyway, if you buy it, you won't be dissapointedd, believe me.

Definitely not an Enigma album, but a must have for Enigma fans.
It's great to hear some covers AND originals from Jens Gad and Michael Cretu.

This is a good ablum to add to any collection, especially theEnigma fan's shelf <g>. Crockett's theme alone is worth buyingthe CD for. Very relaxing, moody tune to say the least.

To say that musicians, producers, and writers Michael Cretu and Jens Gad of Enigma fame have breathed new life into some of these instrumental pop classics is an understatement! While re-working other artists' tunes is not an original idea, Cretu and Gad pay quite an homage to the original artists with first rate renditions. Just imagine never hearing the originals and you would swear this is all new and innovative material for the first time; This is how Cretu and Gad operate. They're masters at not only creating original work but enhancing the work of other artists. Also, it is not another cheap techno, ambient, dance club collection. Though the elements tend to give that impression for the re-writes, T.A.A.W goes beyond this by giving the listener actual visual mental images never before imagined with the originals. This project can be looked at from two different angles. One is for those who were complaining that Cretu's Enigma project lacked any "energy or pizzazz". Two, this is not intended to be an Enigma album; It is just a side project! Yes, there are similar keyboard sounds and guitar riffs;Consider the source... Two original tracks such as Twelve After Midnight and L-42 (Lullabye for Two, taken from Sandra Cretu's import Fading Shades album)have a very ethereal and haunting nature to them. By the end of the c.d. you only wonder what another T.A.A.W. project with more re-vamped instrumentals would promise!

The Energy of Sound,

First and foremost - THIS IS NOT ENIGMA. That's why it's called 'Trance Atlantic Air Waves'. It's a side project by Michael Cretu and Jens Gad - and it's a definite buy. Two of the most prominent artists in the world have gotten together (once again) to create a masterful work that combines modern electronics with some electronic covers from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. This is an amazing piece of work. Buy it - buy it now.

An Excellent remix album,

I didn't listen to this album the first time I got it, but a few months later I was listening to it at a music store with a freind who makes techno music. I realized this CD was the best remix album of several obscure but probably the first few "new age" tracks ever made. Michael Cretu does in this album what he does best: add new sounds and beats to a piece of music (have you listened to the remixes of some of the work he has done as "Enigma"?). This is a great album that is not typical or generic techno, and that is what makes it so special. This is a great album for those who want to experiment in New Age/techno music fusion.

Enigma into something New.........with Jens Gad,

Those looking to hear Enigma should go out and buy an Enigma CD. Stop complaining and being ridiculous. That's why its called Trance Atlantic Air Waves...and not Enigma. Its different. Some covers are done on this electronic feast ('Axel F Theme' from the movie Beverly Hills Cop) and 'Crockets Theme' from the 80's tv show Miami Vice) But most everything else is new and original material. In a time where either every electronic act sounds like Depeche Mode, NIN or a four on the floor club rave its refreshing to hear someone take the electronic possibilities into another realm. TAAW does just that on their cd THE ENERGY OF SOUND. Cretu is definitely a fan of rock, having snippeted Paul Stanley's (KISS) vocal for one of his wife's songs on her album "Paintings in Yellow", and this is why he takes a bow to some of the greater electronic themes of the 80's. Jens Gad, who was last seen on Cretu's wife's last album, shows that he has an incredible ear for something different and powerful. His "Addiction Day' surges and sweeps in various soundscapes and becomes like its title...a drug of sound to want to hear over and over again. As does his more beat driven "Twelve after Midnite". L42 takes its music from the last song on Sandra's last album (Sandra - Cretu's wife). The song was done by Cretu and Gad...and although it is a gorgeous melody, was just not the same without her vocal. Any electronic music lover must have this in their collection. A cd from two of the most innovative minds in electronic music.

One of the best remix and techno CD's I have seen and heard,

TAAW did an excellent job on remixing and reinventing similiar melodies. I remembering hearing "Axel F.," "Crockett's Theme" and "Pulstar" before and I might say that Cretu and Jens Gad did a great job enhancing the emotion and the mood of the music in a 90's way. If you like Enigma and what they could do, you will definitely like TAAW's Energy of Sound!

This CD isn't one I'll listen to over and over again. The novelty of this slow moving CD wears off quickly similar to one of Cretu's other "pre-Enigma" CD entitled "The Invisible Man". If you want a better Cretu CD, skip this one and buy his Enigma CDs.
