Oh HO! What a great book. I bought it for reference and it is a joy to read. It's another world, north, a bit to the left and not quite 200 years back but it feels like home. Lots of local color, evocative of the best poorly-lit pubs with the best beers (ales), whiskeys and a great cook in the back. The best and the worst of it, all here and no chance of ptomaine poisoning!
