This edition does not provide the in depth information required to make an informed, intelligent decision about a specific drug as previous editions that I have owned have done. I have previously owned 2000 and 2006 editions.

I thought this was an update to <b>The Essential Guide to Prescription Drugs<b/>, but instead it uses an excess of pages with boxes for emphasis to go into depth on only a few prescription drugs that are widely used. What it offers is thorough and worthwhile, but as a general reference is has too much style instead of compact substance. However, I did not know until I read this that statins lower CoEnzyme Q10 and it is a good idea when taking them to also take 100 mg per day of CoEnzyme Q10. I found the big boxes around it seemed like every page of text though to be annoying. I have not decided whether to continue reading it and keep it or to return it yet. I really do want a full update though to this author's <b>The Essential Guide to Prescription Drugs<b/:>
